First of all, DreamLink bails me out every time I need new hardware. I'm not very tech savvy, and DreamLink seems to know that when they design new units. They make them idiot proof, which is right up my alley.
I had a few issues setting the unit up at first. Those issues were not related to the D-Lite. It turned out I had some issues with the Rocket side of my service. Thanks to the FANTASTIC members here, those issues took some hit and miss on my part, but were resolved through the coaching of this GREAT forum. I would hit the Thank You button, but we lost that many years ago.
Second, the picture on the D-Lite is beyond gorgeous. It appears to all be in HD. I'm not used to that. My previous service was the T4 with the DL100 chip. I think it was SD, and the chip just allowed the unit to receive signal from the dish??? Not sure about that one. Anyway, I was not expecting the picture to be as good as it turned out to be.
Third, the channel list is extensive. I have channels I didn't even know existed, from around the globe. With the T4, using a dish, I only had what was on MY horizon. I wish there were PPV channels, like the other service had. I don't like going to a movie theater, and I used to use the PPV channels heavily back when we had FTA. I found the sports channels, and it appears to have more choice than any person needs. I even found the adult channels, with help from this forum. I learned something about myself on that topic. I have ABSOLUTELY no need to watch a porn in HD. There are some things I just don't need to see in high definition. LOL
With my old systems, I always left the STB turned on, and just turned off the TV it was attached to. I did this with the D-Lite, and it always turns itself off. I don't know why, or how to fix it so it just stays on all of the time. I guess some people might like having it turn itself off after "inactivity". I just figured I should report this in case somebody doesn't like that feature.
The remote is very easy to understand and use. Its clearly marked. I like the Curser Arrow option. It helped when trying to edit my incorrectly entered Rocket information, instead of having to delete an entire line and start over again.
I figured out how to include all of the shows and movies I've recorded over the years from the old T4. I had them all on Flash Drives. Apparently, since the T4 was a DreamLink product, and the D-Lite is a DreamLink product, the recordings are all compatible and can be viewed on the D-Lite from the My Files section. I have a USB splitter plugged into the D-Lite, and several Flash Drives plugged into the splitter. When I go to My Files, it already has each Flash Drives located and named. I just scroll to the drive I want, and click on it, and it opens a full menu of what's recorded. Hit play, and away you go.
I'll continue to play with it, and continue to report as I learn new things about it.
Hopefully, somebody can benefit from my experiences with this unit.
Thank you to the DreamLink Team for a fine piece of engineering.

Crazed---you've been in this forum for as long as I can remember, and always help me when I need it. Thank you for being here and being as helpful as you are.
