Andres Cantor going crazy on the GOL call. Tied.
Colombia looked better in the first ET period. England looks tired.
Yes, England is dragging.
Going to penalties. Ugh. England has a record of folding here.
I sure wish it didn't come down to this, especially given England's problems with shoot outs.
.............. COL .. ENG
Round 1: Made, Made
Round 2: Made, Made
Round 3: Made, Saved
Round 4: Missed, Made
Round 5: Saved, Made
England moves on. Great save by Pickford in the 4th round.
Behind you again...so Dyer gets this.
I wonder how much riding Ospina will get from his Arsenal teammates.
Maybe that ends England's penalty jinx.
I wonder how much riding Ospina will get from his Arsenal teammates.
He can't feel comfortable right now...
After defeat, Japan's World Cup team leaves behind a spotlessly clean locker room and a 'thank you' note
(CNN) Even after they were booted out of the World Cup, the Japanese national football team gave us a lesson in grace.
Following their heartbreaking loss to Belgium on Monday, the players left behind a note that said "спасибо" (Russian for "thank you") in their locker room.
Oh, and they cleaned it up.
The good sportsmanship is another example of how Japan -- players and fans -- have earned the admiration of everyone at the games in Russia.
Where fans of other teams hit the news for doing things like giving Nazi salutes, Japan's revelers made headlines in late June for sticking around after a victory to clean up the stadium.
Need further proof the Japanese players have the kind of manners that would make your parents want to invite them around for a holiday meal?
After Monday's defeat, which came after they fended Belgium off and led by a point for some time, the Japanese team bowed to their own fans in gratitude.

Classy of them. Some other teams could learn something.
Uruguay vs France is close at hand, 10:00am ET. That match will be followed by Brazil vs Belgium at 2:00pm ET. Both fixtures should be exciting to watch!!
France's defense looks very disorganized and porous.
I'm probably going to miss most of this game, just got on to it, but I have to leave before the 2nd half. No Cavani?
Cavani - calf injury, sitting it out.
Sorry you'll miss it. Fairly sloppy so far, though.
France scores '39, from a set piece.
Griezman's penalty to Varane. France 1- 0.
Llores with a nice save. Caceres is Uruguay's engine right now.
Very little from Mbappe so far.
Flubbed save by Muslera off a Griezman kick. France 2 - 0.
Cavani's absence is a huge factor for Uruguay.
Five minutes stoppage time with France leading 2 - 0.
I did see the last part of the 2nd half, at the car shop... my car decides to be extra careful to warn me of worn brakes... over 30% left on the pads.

If any1 has problems viewing it on chnl 150, it is also 0n 134...!
Always worth it to get them done early, so you don't end up needing rotors, too.
I just finished doing the lawn, so I'll head for a quick shower ahead of the tilt.
Just started the Bra-Bel match. There are some awesome memes on "Writhing" Neymar. 18 minutes on the ground so far in the World Cup.
A couple of near misses by BRA so far.
Just got here in time to see a Brazil near miss.
Begium just scored. Own goal off headers.
Brazil sure looks like they can come right back...
Yeah, the only D for Belgium seems to be the GK. Constant pressure by Brazil. I won't say it would be a shame to end this way, but anything can happen in 90 minutes.
Massive Golazo for Belgium. 2-0
'31 De Bruyne
Never saw that coming. Great command of the pitch on that attack by Belgium.
Header so close by De Jesus!
Brazil scores, Augusto '76
Brazil is certainly putting the pressure on.
Augusto just missed. 10 min left in regulation.
Hydration break.
Neymar contending, asking for the PK. 5 minutes stoppage.
Neymar shot saved... Corner.
Courtois is the man of the match. Great Goal keeping.
Belgium 2 Brazil 1.
Congrats to Belgium. Brazil was pressing but couldn't find the net.
Brazil had so many chances, but Courtois was all over the place. The own goal obviously didn't help.
Yeah, kicks were way off the mark for the most part, but he was there with some nice saves when they were anywhere near the net.
England / Sweden 10:00a ET today
followed by
Russia / Croatia 2:00p ET today
Kane just wide left for the first real threat so far.
Possession time for England seems even greater than actual, England 58%, Sweden 42%. England has completed twice the number of passes.
Maguire's header off a corner kick scores for England. England 1-0.
Kane hasn't figured into England's offense much yet.
Olsen with a nice save of a Sterling close-quarters kick. Sterling has been menacing. It's half time.
Sweden comes out looking strong. Pickford with a nice save of a header by Berg.
Very few penalties in the game.
Header by Dele Alli makes it England 2-0.
Yeah, this game is pretty much done, if England can keep composure. 2-0, the most dangerous score.
Pickford with another nice save at 61'.
Yeah, this game is pretty much done, if England can keep composure. 2-0, the most dangerous score.
Ah, didn't see ya. England does seem to have it together so far.
Pickford just got his hand on that one. He's having a good game so far.
It's remarkable that England is the youngest remaining team in the WC. I think they and their fans actually believe they can "bring it home."
Yeah, I do think they have that feeling. They could be right if they can play like this for the rest of the way.
Russia or Croatia will be tougher than Sweden, though.
I think Russia is just eating home cooking, though. Sweden has been a good team. Croatia I think is kind of the same level.
The match is done, 2-0.
Yeah, Croatia is a better team than Russia, and I hope they move forward.
Congrats to England!
Croatia dominating. They're clearly the faster team.
At 25', Croatia is dominating possession, 64% to 36%.
Good grief... Cheryshev scores 32'... Russia 1-0.
Kramaric a header 39'. Ties it up, 1-1.
I look to someone getting crushed in stoppage.
Seems like a prize fight in the late rounds with two tired fighters. Anything could happen.
Croatia scores. Player just let it by him.
It didn't have much steam on it, but it dribbled by everyone.
Will Croatia be able to hold on for another 15 minutes?
Subasic with a great save!
Wow....this one is going to penalty kicks
Will Croatia be able to hold on for another 15 minutes?
No, they won't!
Miss, made it barely. Croatia up
I can't look because you're ahead of me.
Made....made. Croatia wins
Ranking the World Cup semifinalists (NBC Sports)
4. Croatia Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic make this Croatian team purr but in their knockout round penalty kicks wins against Denmark and Russia they’ve hardly impressed. If Dejan Lovren can shore up Croatia’s defense and stop Harry Kane, then they’ll have a chance. That’s a big if though. Mario Mandzukic, Ivan Perisic and Andrej Krameric will cause England problems if they can drag their three center backs out wide. Just a second World Cup semifinal in their history and a first since 1998 is a huge achievement.
3. England What the Three Lions have managed to do at this World Cup is astonishing and anything is now a bonus for Gareth Southgate‘s side. Yet despite Kane leading the Golden Boot race, the youngest team left in the competition seem to still have at least a few gears left. Winning the midfield battle against Croatia will be key, with Jordan Henderson likely needing plenty of help against Rakitic and Modric.
2. France They’ve come through the toughest side of the bracket and saw off Uruguay in impressive fashion. Defensively they’re getting better throughout the tournament with Hugo Lloris getting rid of his mistakes, plus Varane and Umtiti a fine central defensive partnership. Olivier Giroud, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe have a great understanding in attack and both Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante have had very good World Cups.
1. Belgium After that stunning display against Brazil they will be full of confidence. All of their stars are playing well with Romelu Lukaku a beast, Eden Hazard buzzing around and Kevin De Bruyne leading stunning counter attacks. Roberto Martinez has also shown he can get his tactics right for individual games and despite a few defensive slip ups, you can’t argue with Belgium being the favorites to win it all.
---------------------------------
France / Belgium - Tue., 7/10 2:00p ET
England / Croatia - Wed., 7/11 2:00p ET
Fantastic save by Lloris.
On the Hazard shot...yes.
France is beginning to assert itself.
Courtois just had one of his own. France has had better chances so far.
Courtois just got his hand on the Pavard shot.
Lukaku had a chance if it was just passed cleanly. Slight edge to France, but Belgium has neutralized France's speed.
I was just about to say we haven't heard much from Lukaku, and there he was. Belgium dominated the opening minutes, but France came back and had more decent shots on goal. Good half to watch.
Umtiti opens for France. Nice header.
What a nice pass by Mbappe, but couldn't capitalize.
Giroud had an open net...too bad.
Mertens definitely adding another dimension for Belgium.
Huge save by Lloris on the Weisel shot.
That was really drilled. Nice save.
Matuidi was absolutely smashed... Belgium fans had no reason to whistle.
Mbappe deserved that yellow, lol.
I'm way behind you. Agreed...
The end of Belgium's run. France advances.
Was a good one to watch. Congrats France!
We're 1:30 away from the England / Croatia kick off -- 2:00p ET.
1st chance to England on a free ...
GOL!!!!
Trippier on a perfect shot, high and away.
Beautiful shot by Trippier!!
Kane was so offside, he was back home.
Would have been perfect, too... Sterling to Kane.
OMG. That was hard to miss.
Kane denied twice, but one offside.
Great chance for Croatia, but Pickford ends it.
Pickford's playing well and tough.
Young with a nice touch...
England so far is dominant, but Croatia is getting counters.
Lingard might have had the corner!
England with quite a few more shots I'd think.
Ref has been holding back on the cards.
Yes, very tolerant so far.
England's defense is looking good.
Free kick and first yellow.
So close for Croatia. Walker was heroic.
Ball shot, then header.
Yup, credit the post with that save.
Croatia definitely stepping it up.
Croatia playing like they know the ref isn't calling any thing.
Lingard had a chance, just off.
Rakatic with a rare error, but England couldn't capitalize. This one going to ET.
This will be the third ET game for Croatia.
They looked the fresher of the two teams.
Great save by Vrsaljko... header on the corner.
I thought Alli had a shot there.
Assistant ref is blind. Ball was out.
Pickford hard save. Mandzukic took the extended leg.
Another short corner, then Modric wastes the last chance.
Unreal! Croatia has been pressing the entire ET.
Croatia's president going wild:

Whoaa... The pause that refreshes!
Its actually someone else (Coco Austin, Ice-T's wife), but she looks like her, same shape.
Yeah, it does look like her, though.
He's been everywhere the whole game. Impressive player.
Only 1 shot on goal by England? Thought there was more.
Subasic has had a vacation in the ET.
Croatia goes on. Great game. I'm glad I was a neutral.
Congrats Croatia! Sorry to see England go but...

Me too Ilan. I was hoping for England but Croatia is very good.
France should win the Final, but Croatia has the most heart of the tournament.
I agree with you. I wanted England to win, but I hated rooting against Croatia. They played their hearts out all the way and impressed the heck out of me. However, if France plays up to their potential, they should take home the trophy.
The remaining games:
Third place play-off:
Belgium / England - Sat., 7/14, 10:00a ET
Final:
France / Croatia - Sun., 7/15, 11:00a ET
Finished a late breakfast, but have been watching the match.
Meunier's goal 3' was the earliest goal ever scored by Belgium in WC play, and it is the earliest goal England has ever given up in WC play.
Current situation:
Belgium 1 England 0 at 39:47
Half-time. The score remains Belgium 1 England 0. England needs to get on their horse or Belgium will take two games from them in this WC.
De Bruyne is looking very good for Belgium.
Lukaku being replaced at 59'.
Dier just missed scoring for England. Courtois was drawn out of position, but Alderweireld made a brilliant defensive move and stopped the shot.

been watching this match this morning.
I was also able to catch Croatia and England yesterday which went into overtime period, great game ! (unless that was a replay, I was not sure about that)
I am not all that knowledgeable in this sport but I did enjoy what I have seen.
Pickford stops a hard Meunier shot.
That was a replay of Wed's game. A good one!
Just started watching... game seems done now, heh.
Hazard with the second Belgium goal. It's not looking good for England. Belgium 2 England 0.
Other than Dier, England looked tired.
Congrats to Belgium.
Ten minutes from the start of the World Cup Final:
France / Croatia - Sun., 15 July 2018, 11:00a ET
Croatia has done a good job of keeping the ball at the French end for the fitst 10 minutes. They've had a couple of shots on goal. Modric is looking stellar, as he has for the entire tournament.
Own goal by Mandzukic off of Griesman's free kick. I think Griesman dived for that.
Free kick by Grietzmann deflected off of Mandazukic scores.
Even. Great goal by Perisic.
Modric, Vida, Perisic...just beautiful play!
Penalty coming up. It was a hand ball, not intentional though.
Greizmann makes it. I think France has been pretty fortunate so far.
Man, I agree. An own goal and an unintentional handball penalty kick. Got to feel sorry for Croatia.
Croatia had a golden opportunity at the end of regulation. I hope they can come back and even it up.
Other than pesky goals, Croatia has dominated everything, I suspect: possession time, shots, passes.
Croatia had a golden opportunity at the end of regulation. I hope they can come back and even it up.
I didn't have a favorite coming in, but I'm pulling for Croatia at this point.
Lloris with a nice save off a Radic shot.
Off to the gulag for those two.
I think they were protesting the call on that handball.
Damn... Nice clean goal, though.
It's over. Mbappe... I knew it was going to happen!
Goal Croatia. Mandzukic on a howler by Lloris
Congratulations to France. Coming out of the most difficult part of the knockout bracket, they definitely deserved it. Great job by Croatia, hard to win if you have 90 more minutes of play on those legs.
Congrats to France, 2018 World Cup Champions!
Croatia's president giving the team full Mom hugs. Everyone is absolutely drenched, but she looks good.

From what I saw of this World Cup, it was pretty fantastic :)
It was good, but all but over early in the second half. Croatia did score a goal late in the second, but it was too little too late. The tough part (for Croatia) was France's 2 early goals were fluky at best.

Congratz to France, I was pulling for Brazil..!
England captain Harry Kane (Tottenham) won the Golden Boot, finishing as the World Cup's top scorer.
Croatia captain Luka Modric (Real Madrid) won the Golden Ball, being named best player of the World Cup.
Congratulations to them both!
