I believe they all have to be 78.. depending on server.. some do let you use 79
79 is reserved for STB's that are assigned actual hardware MAC#'s 00:1A:79 xx xx xx
You use it if you have a box with Stalker middleware (TVOnline, Buzz etc) but you are not going to use that middlware program, but use PotatoTV instead.

oh so I guess with my t1, your saying I can use my 00:1A:79 with potato tv ?
I just set potato with 78 but if I could leave it to 79 and go back and forth from DOL2 to potato without needing to do a reset in papiao that would be cool
wow it works on 79 mac too,,, that's just awesome
just love your set up kens with sid and all
Now try making a playlist with your info, and use it on another device when you are not using the main unit.
(bedroom stb, Android tablet in the backyard ...)

FYI buzz does not use stalker middleware it uses ministra multiscreen tv platform
My understanding is that Ministra is the updated and rebranded "Stalker" (per infomir). My guess is that the Ukrainians that came up with the old name didn't check with the usage of that noun in native speaking English countries, and decided to go with a creative non-threatening sounding name.
By the way, you can use the 00:1A:79 as a MAC prefix with any client connecting with the supported servers, but you do run into the possibility that someone with a hard coded STB could be blocked, and will ultimately cause you to be blocked as well when the STB owner shows that he can't change his MAC. No big deal, but just use 00:1A:78 to be a good neighbor if you are using a non STB solution.
