What happened was a couple of developer who post add-on on the Colossus repo were targeted. I just checked, but the repo is still up, maybe not for long, and you can find the add-ons in other repos as well. However it appears that Ares, Smash, and Dandy media were targeted as well.

Take a look at the following story:

FAQ: If I have these addons installed, what should I do?

If you already have Covenant, Bennu, or any other addon installed which is no longer alive, LEAVE IT ALONE. There is no risk in keeping the addon installed at this time and they will continue to function. Kodi addons are simply search engines to the public internet and host no content. Without developers, addons degrade over time and you will see less and less links returned by them.

If you uninstall an addon, you will not be able to install it again easily. If you are setting up a new Kodi box, you will not be able to install any repo that is currently down.

Whilst the Smash-Colossus entities are still up for me when checking File Manager it shows not found so a delete of any would permanently remove them unless more support came in for them.
Hold on to your hats the wind from the east is blowing up a storm.

I would disable all the addons and repos affected, and also change my settings to manual updates for security reasons until the winds stop blowing!!

I am not worried... They have no case. The Copyright laws that are being pursued do not apply. Once the addon people figure that out this crap will stop. The law is clear... "Can't download and or copy". Streaming is not doing either. As soon as the packet is used it is erased in the cache, therefore not making a copy. With no copy on a system then no download has taken place as the law is written now. There is one exception. That is that there are a few sites that will load the entire show before viewing it. Then you might have a problem but that's the only time. Most stream on the fly never putting more than a few seconds to a couple minutes in the cache at a time. There has already been one case I read about that was tossed out for that very reason. (About 6 months ago). Maybe if the Kodi addon people see this they will look into that and start forcing the ones complaining to "Prove" things are being "Copied". they won't be able to. Case closed. However after that catches on it probably won't be long till they attempt to change the law to include streaming. And at that time all the streamers like Netflix, Hulu, to name a couple will all fight that. If anyone moves to stop streaming those guys will not care to close up shop. Just my humble opinion reading the actual law and using a little logic as opposed to panic. Have a great day!

The "law" isn't the issue. The problem is that these individual developers and websites don't have the cash and resources to fight a civil case by the big media companies. They might have the law on their side, but just fighting a law suit will take away resources that they had to do things like fixing the add-on. I guess they can counter-sue, but its like using a water pistol vs. a water cannon in a pissing contest.

Thanks for the link greg, I have a box that needs a wipe and complete kodi reinstall but I've been reluctant to do it since it was the only one with Covenant and Death Streams on it. I installed Covenant on another box and tried on a third but now the repository seems to be getting slammed with Covenant download requests. I hope we can all get the installations that we want before this repo blows up or is taken down. BTW, the XvBMC repo doesn't have Death Streams but does have a version of SALTS, yay!
