I have an apk app that dreamlink says needs vlc and plays great there. I deleted the media player on buzz 3000 so vlc would be the default but: didn't work out at all. Main thing is I would like vlc to be default player. Can't start the apk file without a video player and if I start vlc is says........no media files. Hmnnn

Not sure that would get vlc as main video player. Vlc would be gone, mx player back as default player. When I started the apk, a message came up that mx player was missing and there was a button to install it. Looks like I don't have much choice. Can't find setting to change default video player but still looking.
Pretty hard to help you if you don't state what the App is.
There should be a Setting to change the player, if it is noted upon installation.
Install VLC 1st, then re-install App.

I understand your thinking on that. The apk is "your iptv" for a diff server. I have iptv66 and this other one for backup. My thinking was get rid of mx player and it would find vlc on startup and everything would be good. As stated above that didn't work so good. Buzz put "missing mx player" on screen. Not a big deal, just always use vlc out of habit and used to the layout.
I have a note 3 but rooted it a long time ago and have android 7.1 with a nice pixel launcher. Just hard to leave something alone sometimes.
I think I will have to stay with mx player though since it actually says mx player not installed. It is looking for that particular media player.
thanks though ken
