EPG for US and UK Channels

Hey all, so here is my version of EPG with all US and UK channels and now Spanish-language channels coming from Schedule Direct.
Automatic update every day at 6pm CST.

In order to get the new EPG XML source using stalker client you just need to go to System->Add-ons->Stalker Client->Configure->Portal X(the one that you are using; usually the first one)

3 things to ensure:

Guide->Preference->XMLTV Only

XMLTV->Scope->Remote URL

XMLTV->Remote URL->

If you guys having an issues loading the guide try to clear data for both channel and guide then delete the guide.xml file which is located:
SYSTEM->File Manager->Profile Directory->addon_data and then you'll have to choose either pvr.stalker or pvr.iptvsimple after selecting one of those delete the epgxmltv.xml file restart Kodi and the guide should load without issues.

It came to my attention that some of the users reported that the server that hosts EPG sometimes takes forever to load the guide and the download speeds are pretty low too. So from now on you guys will have two options for the EPG you can use either

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/acidjesuz/EPGTalk/master/guide.xml it's up to you which one works best for you.

The EPG hosted on git will be updated/committed automatically every day at midnight CST. Nothing else changed besides that everything else stays the same.

Just did a little maintenance on the guide, nothing really changed just removed some old channels some old duplicates. Also added couple of new ones, we still got some blank channels in the HD range. Channel ID's look fine so it might be something on the server's end. We'll see if it gets resolved on the next pull. If not I'll have to look into that another day besides that all is the same.

No Guide.
It appears that Schedules Direct was doing some kind of maintenance on there systems and it didn't go as planned. So Stay Tuned. It Will Be Back but don't know exactly When.

It look like we're back on line, seems they fixed the issue with SD-JSON service. I just pulled new guide info so everything should work like it supposed to.
I also noticed some new channels had been added to the lineup so I'll try get the Guide for those channels also.

Spanish Channels.

I had some time over the weekend, so I decided to get additional subscription for Schedules Direct and start EPG guide for the Spanish speaking channels.
I'll adding new channels as we go. Because of that, the guide got a bit bigger from 32MB to around 49MB.

Just clear your guide data and it should populate with new channels info.

Unfortunately I had some storms in my area last night and a tree went down on my powerlines so I was left with out power in my house and no way to update the EPG. It should be fixed by tonight or the latest tomorrow morning.

Got it fixed, minor issue with DNS on my side.
I just did a manual update and push and everything looks OK. EPG should be back online and updating every six hours as usual.

SpringISH cleanup as usual, not spring yet but had some time last night so I did a little maintenance on the guide.
Added some missing channels, mostly Spanish speaking and some Canadian ones. Fixed some.

Got one extra lineup at Schedules Direct might as well us it. If I see more Canadian channels popping up I'll use that extra lineup for that if not than we got a extra lineup if ever needed.

Besides that all good, hope everybody is having a great last of the winter days, I don't know where you at but in my neck of the woods it feels like spring is just around the corner.

Good morning all,

Just did a little maintenance on the guide took out some old non existing channels, add some new one a specially in the Spanish speaking section.

I also per one Github user, starting today there's gonna be additional version of the guide. It's the same guide the only difference is that the guide now is compressed so single board computers, TV low power devices might benefit from this.

So, you have a choice you can use the regular uncompressed version if that works fine for you or if you own a low power device, TV maybe a Raspberry PI and so on maybe you can try this new compressed version and see if that works better etc. The choice is yours. :)

So another small update, had some time over this weekend and did a bit of maintenance on the guide, so starting today You guys will have an option to choose what guide you want to chose.

Maybe you're outside of US and watch only Spanish speaking channels or vice versa, same with UK channels maybe you don't need all the Spanish speaking channels etc.
So you got a choice now, I did a little split the guide into few sections:

US_guide.xml.gz which is for US channels only (and some Canadian ones).

The new guides are 7 days in advance as opposed to 24 hours on the combined one, that's why their compressed.

How's everybody doing? You guys smell that spring in the air? Because I don't, not yet lol..

I got soo blazed this morning that I decided to fill all the US local channels that our service provides...

I've include all those channels in the regular guide and then you get the extended version in .gz

US_local_guide.xml.gz is for all the US local channel that Rocket, NFPS and IPTV66 services provide

UPDATE May 15th 2023

How's everybody doing on this fine Monday morning? Hope all of you guys and gels doing great, enjoying the nice weather (I hope is nice)

I was checking the guide this morning and I noticed there was a issue with one of the providers and I see lot's of local and Canadian channels are missing the info from the guide.

This is from the provider:

Issue as of 5/15/23, 7:05 AM ET:
We are aware of the intermittent issues with the grid loading (the "oops" message). We are working on the issue and apologize for the inconvenience. No need to contact us about this issue, just check this page for updates.

So we're just have to wait it out, next pull is at noon so we'll see if they get the issue sorted out by then. But like I said I'm aware of the issue but it's out of my hands and we'll just have to wait for the provider to fix the issue.

I don't have access to Potato TV at the moment. Besides the Pach and Viper choices, does it allow you to add an EPG of your own choosing?

No the EPS source isn't customizable. I just posted in the PotatoTV forms about this, so maybe someone over there will know.

Since a few people seemed to be having trouble loading your guide I thought I would give it a try. If I load it in a browser it does seem to take a very long time to load, but it loaded up fine for me in my Simple Client PVR.

Great job on your guide, it's nice and full!

It might be an issue with downloading. If it takes too long, Kodi times out the activity. I would leave it set-up and if everything is configured correctly, I bet it will fill-out in the very near future.

Thanks for the quick response ilan. After several attempts at clearing data bases(channel and guide - even had an iptv reset in between) and restarting Kodi, the guide finally loaded. I think my problem was related to the fact that I had not at any stage done a restart of Kodi. A Kodi restart is essential and those having similar problems should note this. Also the entire process might need to be repeated a couple of times.

I have no way of checking that, I'm using hostinger's premium account which I payed for few days ago and should be unlimited bandwidth etc.

Been trying for couple days now to bring guide up no luck,using stalker client and kodi 16.1 was using yahyabell with no problems and have tried couple dozen times to clear guide and reset as well. I have entered http://acidjesus.tk/guide.xm1. Have rebooted serval times and each time I clear guide I do a restart, also let it sit for couple days thinking it might populate on its own..anything else I could try guys please let me know...thanks

It is an L at the end of XML, not a 1.

XML stands for eXtensible Markup ​Language

Quick Question regarding AcidJesus EPG. Currently using it on Simple Client, works great though a bit slow pulling streams, but my question is, every few days a good portion of the guide disappears then returns a couple days later. Is there a setting in which I may be able to correct this or is this just normal due to updating the guide. Thanks

His guide auto updates at 6pm CST every day. In Simple Client settings you can cache file to local drive under the EPG tab. That should help pick up changes. In KODI settings for Live TV you can pick number of days (maybe change to 1 day if it's slow for you) and also update interval. You can change that around. I use a local file for my guide and have days to display set to 2 and update interval set to 120 minutes, prevent updates during playback and also don't cache in local database. Works good for me. I had the same settings when I used a remote url for my guide.

You could also clear guide data every night (after 6pm CST) and be assured of getting refreshed data, in KODI settings.

Seems as though PP loads guide data from the bottom line of the <channel> field. So for channels that don't auto populate you'd have to manually assign/map the ones that have no data. You only have to do it one time as long as you don't change to another guide. If you open the guide on a screen and look at it, it'll be easy to see how to map them.

Interesting observations. I'm not sure how it actually works or why it would be different between platforms. When I used PP on android and only about half the channels populated, I edited the xml and deleted lines in the <channel> fields and changed the channel name if need be so that channel name matched what was in the m3u. My m3u doesn't use tvg-id at all, so in my case the IDs don't matter. I no longer use PP however, preferring to have everything within the media center app, in my case it's Kodi.

I'll see if I can find an explanation on the author's website so we have a definitive answer. Inquiring minds want to know.

The guide that is provided by papiao is not a complete solution so certain users have developed their own guides and share with others. If you check some of the other sticky threads in this sub forum, you will see that there are other guides that include Spanish in addition to English channels.

As far as getting an epg that also includes international and Indian channels, IDK if you will see that happen. At least not for free. You might find what you want for an added charge by others. There was/is a thread by someone who had a purported epg that was 'complete' but it was not free.

The thing with epgs is that someone has to buy a sub to a service in order to get the guide data. Several users have done this. However this only entitles the user to have data from 4 providers at any one time. In other words, it boils down to work for the person pulling the guide data.

The majority of users are interested in English and Spanish channel guides so that is what the members who are sharing a guide have provided. Someone would have to 1) Know the provider name that offers the guide data for the channels, 2) Add those to their guide data pulls, and 3) Have an interest in adding said channels. As the users making their shared guides are using Schedules Direct and are restricted to 4 providers at any one time and are allowed only 6 changes per day, it is unlikely that you will find what you are hoping for. In order to get just the English data (for example) guide data has to be pulled from a minimum of 5 providers to get a full listing for all channels being offered by this service here (NFPS/Rocket/IKS).

In order to have a completely filled in EPG for all the channels for these services, someone would have to several subscriptions to a guide data service. I don't think you will find anyone willing to do that. People who are making their own guides are pulling data for channels that are of interest to them and are kindly sharing their efforts.

You can either use what is being shared for free or get yourself a sub to an online epg provider that has the channels you are interested in or make your own epg and include those channels you are interested in. You'll have to do some research on your own to see who might offer the channels you are interested in and then use their url for the guide.

It may not be perfect, but it's what we are dealing with here. A sub for Schedules Direct is $25 a year. Some online sources for epgs charge by the month for a nominal fee. It's your choice as to what works best for you. After all, this ain't cable.

Since you're using Stalker Client, you're stuck with the format from rocket. You can use the groups feature in the and that might get you close to what you want. Start out in the channels view and hit the left arrow, then select one of the groups. You can use the channel manager and rearrange the channels, groups or make your own groups. It you really want a tailored viewing experience you would be better off with a playlist and Simple Client. That way you can edit the playlist to be however you want in a plain text editor.

If you do make changes in channel manager and move channels around...make sure to un-tick 'use channel order from back end' in tv settings. Same with channel groups, if you make any changes, un-tick 'synchronise channel groups with backend or changes won't stick and you'll waste a lot of time.

You can enter channel manager either by 'c' on a keyboard or right click or long press on a remote from the channels view, or from the tv settings page.
There is no guide data for VOD with anyone's guide.

Sorry, I thought you were asking if there was an epg for VOD (there isn't). In addition to above, if you use the playlist option and simple client, you can have VOD from the pvr, however using potato is a good way to go for VOD.

Acidjesuz switched to github due to the slow download speed of the european .tk Server.

Thanks for the guide. It works great but I can't get it to recognize my time zone. I have changed the time zone to -8:00 in IPTV pvr client but the EPG does'nt change time zones. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The guide has nothing to do with "recognizing" the time zone. Usually, if your system clock is set correctly, the adjustment in IPTV Simple client is not more than an hour.

When you makes changes, you should clear guide data or restart Kodi to see where you stand.

Sounds like it is ok if you're seeing the correct date and time on the screen.

What version of Kodi are you using? When the offset is at 0, how far off are you? Again, you need to clear data or restart Kodi after each adjustment.

Yes, but he was off by 8 hours, and he had the setting at -8, so I thought a 0 setting would probably get things straightened out. I didn't think it was a coincidence.

Kodi has changed how it responds to the offset and how it responds to Daylight Savings Time. Both changes have been in the positive direction.

Maybe because my IP changed?. At the end I totally forgot that my Schedule Direct account expires on May 2nd so that's why EPG didn't update for one or two days. But as of right now everything should be back to normal.

As for the BBC One channel that's a strange one because on my RPi3 which is running latest version of OSMC it's showing the guide for that channel, but
that same channel on Amazon Fire TV box (Android) is blank, I'll have to look into it or just change it per Expatter's and kens directions like I said I'll have to look into it.

Sometimes the data source does not have the information available or the information was not accessible for one reason or another, so there is no information for that channel in a pull. A subsequent pull, however, is often successful, meaning whatever was wrong during the previous pull has been addressed.

I'm sorry I didn't noticed the changes earlier. I'll try to fix the EPG as soon as I get back from work later on today.
I think all of the UK channels, US HD channels in the 9000 range (with some exceptions like National Geographics HD East) still have working EPG. We only lost the guide for US SD channels. I'll try to have it fixed by the next pull at midnight tonight guys.

Disable the PVR.
Go to system settings/PVR&LiveTV - General tab
Clear Data
Go back to PVR settings and Enable

* If using Stalker client, you may have to Clear data a number of times. Best is to shutdown system then restart and run Kodi

UPDATE Dec 16th 2018

Just did a little maintenance on the guide, nothing really changed just removed some old channels some old duplicates. Also added couple of new ones, we still got some blank channels in the HD range. Channel ID's look fine so it might be something on the server's end. We'll see if it gets resolved on the next pull. If not I'll have to look into that another day besides that all is the same.

Winter has returned. POW Time!
Just a little maintenance/clean up, got some channels fixed for showing incorrect data.

Hi acidjesus. I've been using you remote url for awhile now and it's been great but today I upgraded my kodi to 18.5 and now it won't play any channels. It loads the guides ok and initially played a few channels but now won't play any. I select a channel and it hangs for a couple of seconds like it's going to play but never does. Any ideas? I've already deleted guide data, restarted, etc. Also I reset my donation. Do I need to go back to 17.2? NEVERMIND. IT JUST STARTED WORKING!

Hey Mike, sorry it took me a while to answer but you know.. life.. as for your issue, if the service all of sudden stops working just Wait, don't change any settings etc..just wait, check this forum for info. If you see bunch off people starting new posts about channels not working then you know it's not only you, and there's always

No Guide.
It appears that Schedules Direct was doing some kind of maintenance on there systems and it didn't go as planned. So Stay Tuned. It Will Be Back but don't know exactly When.

Spanish Channels.

I had some time over the weekend, so I decided to get additional subscription for Schedules Direct and start EPG guide for the Spanish speaking channels.
I'll adding new channels as we go. Because of that, the guide got a bit bigger from 32MB to around 49MB.

Just clear your guide data and it should populate with new channels info.

If you are familiar with Notepad++ editor, you can easily reduce the size of your file, by removing unnecessary data.

-Load xml file into Notepad++
-Click the "Binocular" Icon (Find/Replace/Mark)
-Click "Mark" Tab, select "Regular Expression" Sort format and enable "Bookmark Line"

In the "Find what:" window, copy and paste in the following string of Search terms;

<value|</value|<actor|<writer|<producer|<director|<length|<episode-num|<rating|</rating>|<guest>|<star-rating|</star-rating>|<stereo|<audio|</audio|<previously-shown|<subtitles|<new />|<video>|</video>|<quality>|<presenter>|<aspect>|<url>
-Click "Mark All"

Program will parse your file and Bookmark (blue dot), every line that starts with any of the Terms (separated by the pipe " | " symbol).
On the Notepad++ menu, click "Search/ Bookmark/ Remove Bookmarked Lines".

Thank you buddy for the heads up about Notepad++. Will have to check it out. Sadly I don't use Windows but I can always run Notepad++ in a VM or maybe find an alternative to Notepad++ for Linux. Plus I would have to find a way to make it run with a cron as I do with the guide and Sed to replace with [NEW] in EPG. Maybe small bash script will do. Will have to look into it for sure. Makes sense to get rid of all that unnecessary data in EPG.

UPDATE Mar. 5th 2022

SpringISH cleanup as usual, not spring yet but had some time last night so I did a little maintenance on the guide.
Added some missing channels, mostly Spanish speaking and some Canadian ones. Fixed some.

Got one extra lineup at Schedules Direct might as well us it. If I see more Canadian channels popping up I'll use that extra lineup for that if not than we got a extra lineup if ever needed.

Besides that all good, hope everybody is having a great last of the winter days, I don't know where you at but in my neck of the woods it feels like spring is just around the corner.

I was at work so didn't know until I got back that we have some new channels. All been taking care of, except two od the showtimes as I wrote in the earlier post.

As for the HBO Max, that strange because that's a streaming channel and I don't think I ever add that one to the guide. It might be a mix up with a different channels, I think it's showing info for HBO Mundi not HBO Max. Will have to fix that.

The guide for HBO 2 West should be fixed, but I think there's something wrong with the feed. The guide shows the right data for that channel but the channel show's totally different feed. It's shows HBO2 but not sure which HBO 2 is it, right now there should be movie called Hugo on HBO 2 West but that channel is playing movie called All My Life. Yes, confirming that I can see the correct guide now.
You do have a point about the stream. I looked a bit into it after you mentioned that and it looks like the HBO2 West channel is playing the HBO2 (Latino American) content.

So just a little update, the UK channels without the EPG info should be fixed now and have appropriate info.

SD have switched some of the channels ID's... had to manually change the id's for those channels accordingly.

So, sorry for the inconvenience boy and girls but all should be fixed now... sometimes sh*t just happens :)

Just a little update, had some time this weekend so I add more lineups to the guide.

Filled some missing channels like PAC 12 networks some local channels for Chicago and Detroit area and few others.

Mission is fill as much missing channels as I can. Will see how that goes.

@1sikguy got your Showtime Women channel filled out with data, I remember you asked about it.

Little Update...

So I made a small change in the EPG to include the year of the movie or a show was made in etc..

The guide itself got a little bit bigger because of that.

The thing is can someone confirm that please? Can you guys see the year of the movie was made in?? I use Tivimate and for some reason that app is not showing the year or the complete description of a program.

So I was wondering if the change took place or not. Thank you in advance.

I was worrying about users that use boxes with less then ideal specs like RAM and so on...but I don't think that'a you.

I also thought about splitting the guide into two separate guides for English and Spanish speaking channels and making them smaller but then, I know some people have their boxes set one way and for some it's hard to change their options etc..older folks and so on..so I passed on that idea.. will see how that goes.

I dont see the year. I had an issue with one stb loading but could be me. The other using m3u list, the epg loads fine. I dont see the year in the description tho. I dont see the year with papiaos either using Mac authentication.

While on a channel on that T3, did you try using the down function on the RCU to bring up the hidden menu at bottom of screen ?

Yeah, tried that, hit info while on a channel twice brings up description but no year. You can hit the right arrow too to bring up upcoming epg for one channel but it was the same. I’ll try some other apps in the coming days and see if it’s any different

Thank you Joker for checking, that pretty strange. When I look at the xml date inside the guide I can clearly see the date and I also got an email from SD stating that there should be a year in the data that I pull...

It might be mc2xml software that I use to get the data from SD and it's not out putting the year. I'll have to look into that more over the weekend why we don't see the year... I know we pull more data because the guide got bigger by 25MB's.

ironically I had just recently send the android device (the T3) that does m3u URLs well, recently sent that to a friend :)
That was my last one of them models.
I been trying thru a T1 Plus model but that model is not good at EPG URL, or even server Playlist URLs :eek:
The Buzz box do not seem to work well with m3u URL option :(

Ok boys and girls, done with the maintenance, US and UK channels should show dates next to the title of the movie as well actors and some other stuff.

Also got few channels filled in with data that were missing guide. Will try to fill some more channels in upcoming days

The epg wont even load in the 4900 but it does load in the X5 with m3u list but the year is not displayed in the X5 either, but I set up tivimate in the T3 and the X5 and I can see the year is there? Thank you for checking, I have no idea why isn't the guide working on other boxes. I checked on two of my boxes and I see the year, but those two boxes are runningTivimate.

When I get home from work today I'll check the other boxes and see what's up with that. I'll check on X5 and two other boxes which I can't remember the name of right now lol

One of the users just informed me that year and guide is working correctly on Kodi PVR simple server. He is also getting posters for movies/tv shows as I added that option to the guide, but I don't see any images for movies or tv shows in my Tivimate but he sees them in Kodi..

It came to my attention this morning that there was an issue pulling the guide form schedules direct this morning, I tried to do a manual pull but no Go, it seems there's a issue with connection to their servers.
I'll keep an eye on it, and I'll try to do a manual pull from work later in the day.

But for now just stay tuned.

Ok boys and girls we have a problem, this is from Schedules Direct:

October 1st 2022

SD-JSON images now require tokens
Effective 2022-10-01, the Schedules Direct service will be requiring that the user token be presented for most interaction with our servers. If you are running NextPVR v6 or EPG123 v1.7.1.8 or higher then this will re-enable image downloads.

If you are a developer, please check the updated API documentation. You may also contact [email protected] if you would like to have your requests steered to a “debug” server while you are testing the addition of the token to your code.

As of this moment mc2xml (software I use for EPG) is not working, the whole site is down, linux and windows version of the software are not working, I have no idea if it's due to SD changes or some other issues. I'll keep an eye on it, but for now I won't be able to pull the EPG, I've been on it since yesterday and I'm still at it. Looking for alternatives.

well, I think Ryu has solved our problem for us :)

It's a tricky solution but it works !
I gonna do some more testing before I say, I gotta delete all other portals so I know for a fact I am seeing what I am seeing and its not an illusion :)

Okay, I deleted all other active portals, including MAC and API and other m3u portals, so only the m3u with acid's epg is remaining.
We have lift off !!
EPG is populated fully and looks good :)

well all you have to do is delete _plus@output=ts from your url

so instead of

try

that dash or 'underline score' prolly works as a 'directive' type thing. Everything after the dash is included in the directive. But without the dash, then nothing else is seen after where the dash was .. or something like that maybe :)

if I use the server EPG URL in that same m3u slot, and with the complete Playlist URL, I do get population and icons and categories and etc.

Unless something changed in acid's pushes and pulls... but according to Harry Balls from other site this issue started awhile ago and Joker sorta concurs with that except an update to his x5 disrupted it all.

acid's is always more populated and reliable, yes.
But here's the thing. You can connect with API or MAC and then get the provider's EPG ... so why use providers in the m3u slot?

so, use m3u portal and acid's EPG as well as a api portal (API portal populates EPG from server source) and then have both choices. Using API and m3u portals there is no need to add or remove MAC, so easy peasy.
You will soon see acid's is always better populated with correct data. Server EPG is okay but can be improved and acid does that.

You can also add a server PlaYLIST m3u portal with server epg url entered and along side with a m3u portal that is for acid , then compare the two just by switching in buzz menus.... easy peasy to switch between them without needing to adjust a MAC :)
WE USE TO DO THAT ALSO WITH KENS EPG URL added in there, so that made 3

You can in effect if you have them all loaded into portals, just switch between at will :)

yes switch between m3u and api would get you the comparison between acid's and server's epg .
Even setup another playlist m3u portal with server epg instead of and along side of acids portal, then you have that as another portal to compare.

It does work! You actually only need to remove the _plus, and it works but you lose the channel logos. Tried on the X5 but im sure it works on the 4900 too. Weird tho, it was working on the X5 until I updated it.

Sorry I'm late to the game but... it's been a wiled few months lol.

So to answer you questions Yes it works perfectly with our service but to get everything out of it you need to get that Premium subscription for TiviMate.

I've been using TiviMate for while now with co complaints, developer is adding new options all the time. I think it worth every US or Canadian penny :)

Good morning all,

Just did a little maintenance on the guide took out some old non existing channels, add some new one a specially in the Spanish speaking section.

I also per one Github user, starting today there's gonna be additional version of the guide. It's the same guide the only difference is that the guide now is compressed so single board computers, TV low power devices might benefit from this.

So, you have a choice you can use the regular uncompressed version if that works fine for you or if you own a low power device, TV maybe a Raspberry PI and so on maybe you can try this new compressed version and see if that works better etc. The choice is yours. :)
