dummy needs help

It just cant be that hard - I can not get STB emu (or anything else) to work. I have read almost everything here - installed and uninstalled several versions of STB emu and tried a lot of mac address and URLs and NOTHING I have tried works - black screens mostly

android Ver 6.0.1 box - (Zoomtak U plus)
marshmallow (i Think)

the latest version of STB emu will not allow me to change the URL for the portal - it just gives an error message and reverts to hxxp://11.iptv (http://11.iptv).... (wont take p5.iptv...... or hxxp://p5.iptv (http://p5.iptv)....)
I have tried making up mac address and using 00:1A:78 XXXX and even 79 rather than 78 - I have tried the mac address on my stb - and each one has been paired to the mac address on the donation checker (I am starting to think I AM a robot) Oh and I tried earlier versions of STB emu with all of the above

Have you tried kodi? go to browser on your box / kodi.tv/downloads download android kodi ( the green man) 32 bit / then go to app installer and install it 17.4
then learn how to install repository's/ and addons Google is your best friend or kodi tips.com. And then you can install couch potato repo/ potato tv and set it up instructions are in the forum's of how in kodi couch potato sorry no help with STB from me good luck hope this didn't make things worst set mac at 78 and do a reset and use the port that come with your donation
