ok got a question, i want to use my mag 254 with rocket donation at my buddys house ,do i just take my box to my buddy's house and then ip reset my rocket on the rocket page and then just add his mac address or?

All you have to do is plug it in set your wifi or Ethernet cable and you're set to go

No...you have a dedicated MAC address with your box, all you have to do is plug it in.

I thought the service was also linked to your ISP....... So same ISP provider then should be OK. Maybe a mod can chime in...

noi its not locked to 1 isp unless you use the option on the website to lock it to certain one
