Hi there,

New to this IPTV world, but been using XBMC/Kodi on a HTPC connected to TV.

Recently saw a Mag 250 IPTV box at a friend setup to view live tv channels and really liked it. He pays someone a monthly fee for access and paid a one time price for the box.

As I recently purchased a laptop to use as HTPC, do not want to buy a Mag250 box.

How do I setup these IPTV Live channels just like the Mag 250 box ?

I can understand if the interface will not look exactly the same, but I don't mind paying someone a monthly fee for a stable stream of live tv channels. I tried the various m3u lists floating around the web to setup the Live TV option in Kodi, but not one list has all channels that I like or many that work.

So please, someone more technical than me, if you can let me know of a guide that can explain to setup Kodi for this. I did install that IPTV Stalker add-on last night.

Thanks, yes, I installed this add-on last night and I think another one called Starky Streams. Don't remember which one had them, but lot of channels worked, so added them to favourites.

Now just need a way to interact with XBMC like a cable tv box remote. I have a bluetooth keyboard with built-in trackpad that I use to interact with Kodi on my HTPC. And also use the very good Yatse Remote on Android phone.

Will play around a bit more.

@nav2014 There are plenty of htpc remotes. I personally use the lenovo multimedia remote (N5902) I love it.

I use my xbox 360 wireless gamepad using a xbox 360 wireless receiver, with all my HTPC and it works with Kodi also...
It works on Linux also... which I run on most of my Desktops/ Laptop is half & half...

In terms of Keyboard, I was looking more for one where there is channel up and down button and the Add-on on Kodi being able to interpret that.

I use this one for rest of things and it works great given that the right side of the keyboard has ability to even control some functions of TV and you choose which functions.

I used the IPTV Stalker Add-on yesterday and most of the English channels that I checked out work great. Only thing is inability to have the option of going from one channel to other, similar to what you can do if things are setup on Live TV section using an m3U list.

I read this link, but it is beyond my understanding and it requires a later version of IPTV Stalker add-on than what I have. I got the one from MetalKettle repo and since I have few others from that repo that I use, don't want to un-install it to be able to get the latest IPTV Stalker add-on, given that, the discussion at that link seems to indicate others having difficulty getting the add-on itself to work, forget about the EPG.

I put the link "http://tecbox.tv/repo/teciptvguide/stalker.xml" in the PVR IPTV Simple client under the EPG tab and that did not do much. Will need to check if this needs to be put instead in the IPTV Stalker config settings somewhere.

Oh wow, just to see if it works without installing MetalKettle Repo, I updated the IPTV Stalker add-on using the zip file that the creator pocpoc has and I was able to upgrade it to version 1.1.18

And followed this guide by dara to setup EPG and it worked on first try.
