Channel ordering in Kodi

I'm interested in finding a way to either force Kodi to use the Channel order in the m3u file or to easily backup/restore the channel order in group manager in Kodi so that when it disappears I can get it back. I find that a lot of people have this issue, but cannot find a good workaround. Any ideas?

if you use a m3u playlist it could not be easier. you simply open the playlist in a text editor like notepad then you can easily cut paste delete lines of channels to any order you want. there is a sticky that covers this.
