Mag 256 ethernet cable problem

Hi guys just got the Mag 256 and of to a bad start when i plug in the ethernet cable my box turns to black screen its the same with the wireless adapter any help would be great

Did you tried doing a factory reset?

what happen when you go to setting and try to configured the Internet ?

I know this is if no help now - but where did you specifically purchase your box from?? I recently received several newer fakes that are floating around on eBay and the like. They were extremely well done and I wouldn't have been able to tell other then the software acting flaky at times.

Only buy from the list of "trusted sellers" which you can find on the infomir website.

Of course, you may have just received a dud, but I have yet to find a dud myself (tested/setup 150+ units). But I've come across countless fakes.

Can i place Ethernet/Coaxial cable in an electrical box on one side of a stud, and then my 12-2 in outlet electrical box on the other side of the same stud or do I need to space it out a bit more for drywall/wall plates to go in between the two?Thanks
