Please, HELP! Not even sure if this is the place to ask. Not used to forums. But here's my plea: Got my informir mag 254/255 box yesterday. Hooked it up. Bought my codes for turning it on. Was talked through how to put it all in...BUT, I didn't hook it up to my wifi first and now everytime I try, it comes up INTERNET DISABLED and it doesn't seem to be actually loading my wifi password (I press OK, but nothing happens). What should I do? Is it safe to restore to factory settings then start over again? Please, this is my first IPTV, and I really want to get it working. Thanks in advance!

the 254 will not do wifi without an extra dongle attached.
You will need to run a hardwire

my network name is showing up, but when I try to add password to open it, it just isn't taking it. I press OK over and over...nothing. When press Home, I get page loading error: INTERNET DISABLED.

I'm on the verge of doing a factory reset, hoping that I just messed up the first time by not connecting to internet before I added the iptv, if that makes sense. Before i do this, PLEASE can somebody reply and tell me if this is or isn't go
ing to be disastrous?

And not every dongle works with the mag 254 , I had one that didn't work, I had to purchase the aura hd wireless adapter
Check this link for wifi dongle info and setup

If you're seeing your wifi connection in the Mag network menu, your wifi is working fine.
Something is wrong with the password your entering or the way your entering it.
Did you figure out how to get out of the DHCP loop yet ? I'm guessing you have by now.
Sorry for the poor help your getting.....

Ok I just picked up a 254w model. I got it going with some reading here, a reset and other stuff. Wifi or Ethernet did not seem to be a problem. Look at this image of my device, remote and interface. Initially my screen appeared "locked" on this STB block. ON the remote is a settings button with a gear icon. Pressing that pulls up the next interface for settings. Using the Home button is back, I choose network using the arrow keyring and select using ok. If you have wireless go down to Wireless(wifi) and select it, you see DHCP, auto DHCP,manual DNS and Manual. Choose Auto and use OK , be patient. It may take a moment to scan for wifi then load a list. Mine was scio passim, move down using the key ring and on the field, using the keyboard key to bring up the keyboard, Maybe your mag has that section. If it does NOT, go back , choose Ethernet and choose DHCP then save and use home to back out. until you are at "System Settings" go down to "Network Info" and choose either wifi or Ethernet to check a connections status. You get that detailed screen with your MAC shown, and your IP if you have one. If the Ethernet status shows DOWN, You likely lack a physical LINK to your router, IE bad dongle. Duly noted in the thread by Kens and IPguy. I would want to make sure your cable in the router is in the LAN port section of your router and showing a link light in the LED to make layer one connection confirmed. I posted a lot of pics of the mag interface.
