Anything i can do with mag not going threw the start up process. It goes to start up like it should then goes off to next screen saying loading portal then goes black on screen. I had to do it 3x by unplugging but now nothing. Any ideas that i can try. It about 1.5 years old.

Hi, I posted a question almost exactly like this where my mag 254 box would load up,and then just go to a black screen. How I fixed mine was to unplug the mag 254 box from the tv ,and bring it over to my computer monitor,and hook the mag 254 box up with a separate hdmi cable that can be hooked up to the mag ,and the other end to the computer monitor. This should allow you to see your mag 254 information instead of it just going to the black screen.Then go to the video settings in the mag 254 box and look for a 720 p setting. There are 2 of them.Mine got switched to one of the 720p settings that would just show the black screen after loading was up. When I bypassed my tv,and did this it fixed it.Also make sure your tv itself is on the 720 p setting as well. Make sure of this first before unhooking the box and doing my second step. I posted this question for help,and got zero replies. So if this helps fix yours,Mabe it is a blessing that my mag 254 box had this problem. Though at the time,with it going to just a black screen was a scary problem for me as well since with just a black screen you can't set anything. Hope this helps. It definitely helped me.
