What is a lot? If a channel is down when you attempt to access it, that is the error you will receive. However, if this happens with all channels that require authentication, most likely you are not configured correctly or your account is inactive/expired/invalid. On another note, if your provider was blocking certain channels ( i.e., premium content), the error would also arise.
