I'll try again later. But at this time the only way I can get it to work is overwrite my userdata and addon file with a backup everytime I want to watch tv. And then I can only load channels from the guide. NO vod or IPTV using the addon directly.

umm dang it i with i knew how to upload my kodi log. everything all of a sudden clicked, all VOD and live tv. not sure what happened. works now.

For those that are having Issues running "PVR IPTV SIMPLE CLIENT" with Couch Potato (your getting a a totally blank EPG OR Nothing will Open),

Open Couch Potato, click on "Clear: Caches", Then when it pops Up to Clear click on to create a "NEW TOKEN"

NEXT, Click on "SETTINGS: PVR Simple Client"

This will reset your settings in PVR Simple Client

Next go to PVR SIMPLE client & check your settings, Make any changes to Time offset etc & Save.

Restart your KODI

This resolved my issues

This has been driving me crazy! So, running an Android box, the Nvidia Shield TV, and using Kodi Jarvis. Potato was working fine until a few days ago, but now it shows "working" for a second or so, then stops. So, I tried the iptv reset, and no change. I then tried a whole different addon(ProSD), and it too wouldn't work. I made sure I deleted Potato first, removed all files...userdata etc. OK, so deleted ProSD, all files, etc.,and back to Potato. I tried removing my MAC to just 0's in the Papaio page too. Went back to Kodi and no better. I did numerous IPTV resets along the way, trying to wrestle this into submission....

I'm sorry for being so dense, I'm now between the two age classes of "Senior" and "truly OLD", and my brain isn't working as well as it once did.

What do I need to do to get this up and running again? I've been searching this site for a good 3 hours and my eyes are showing signs of complete failure. Someone who can say, " first do this", then do this, etc. step by step would be helping out an old fart immensely..

For those on NFPS if an IPTV Reset doesn't seem to work, after it had been previously, try changing your portal in the checker and Potato TV. Use p2.iptvprivateserver.tv as a custom setting, no http or /c is required.

I would ask you all to get used to read eveything posted in the "IPTV Talk News & Announcements" sub-forum
especially the "Scheduled Maintenance" thread

PLEASE DO NOT do anything with your account, not even the IPTV RESET

after the maintenance done,
you may try to re-test your account with my addon
you may consider to perform the IPTV RESET only if your acc. can't work with my addon
and you may also HAVE TO WAIT for few minutes / hours before your new acc. activated

2. for all kodi 17.x (krypton) users,
you may also have to change the value of the "EPG TIME SHIFT" in the PVR Simple Client settings to 0.0 (zero)

I have had the same issue when I was playing a .ts streming MRL from another different IPTV services
but luckily, I've never had it with the iptv stalker

so I must say, that the issue is probably on your side only

in my case, my issue was related to the url loading timeout, due to the bad routing given by my ISP

all of these following tricks proven worked for me, and maybe for you too

1. changing the connection using the CAT5 cable instead of the WIFI
2. changing the DNS with the fastest one
3. accessing the .ts streaming MRL thru' 3rd party local proxy addon
4. connecting the internet thru' a paid reliable VPN

for trick #3:
I prefer to use the F4M Tester by Shani
but it requires a little skill to tweak the addons original code

for example:

MRL for the HBO:

you must change it with:

what you did was just a common mistake that most everyone here did

you're just too often to perform the IPTV RESET, especially if you got panic when some channels down

and you will get more frantic when you find the system will not respond your request and you can't access the servive using your own account

because you don't, in some cases, the server requires you to wait for a few more minutes/hours, before your new account activated


I've already posted a reading which is describing what changes with the new applied system on the stalker middleware

but, unfortunately (or lucky me lol), only lesssssssss users here were willing to read it

in my experiences,
I WOULD NOT SUGGEST anyone to change/rest their account to the new DONATION ONLY based account (null'ed MAC)
especially for those who can still access the pvr stalker client (the built in one) with their original account (the MAC+DONATION based one)

as I said before,
sometimes the resetting process will take few more minutes/hours to get your new account activated

and the chaos will instantly happen when the impatient users here get panic and do ridiculous things

you have to understand the differences between those 2 accounts
then you have to decide which type of account you want to use

you also have to make sure (verify) is your current account is a part of the account type you chose

if you want to change the current type,
you have to read the common case happened and learn how to solve it

unfortunetely, that's the cost you have to pay when you decided to deal with the IPTV service

whether you like it or not,
you have to prepare yourself with some techie/geeks/nerdy stuffs


there will be NO TECHNICIAN visiting your home,
thus you must be able to fix your own isssue by yourself

all information will be available separately on different locations
so you must collect them all, peace by peace

and there will not be a MAGIC CURE available
you have to perform TRIALS & ERRORS so many times until you find the proper (not perfect) one


if you can't deal with that,
maybe you should go back to the traditional cable tv service
which is expensive and it will also give you full technical support (money talks)

btw, you can also add your own custom portal by yourself (if the new portal isn't available in the settings' portal list),
by editing the file: "Kodi/addons/plugin.video.potatoTV/resources/portals.list"

Fix for the HTTP 403 Error
It worked good for one day then started this... I reset and change Mac. don't understand it, None of the good

By the looks of the post I think is only certain VPN's that are not working. See below:

All portals have been upgraded and all portals are redirecting to the new ones but for those apps or devices that doesn't support redirect like KODI most use the new URLs

Customers using M-A-G, emu and other apps and devices that support redirect doesn't need to change anything.

Those interested on using the playlist, just need to visit the Search Donation form and there you will see the playlist option. Ok haven't used my kodi in a few days. The last time I used it I had to change my settings in potato to portal 2 and it worked great. Today when went on I'm getting a PLAY ERROR: HTTP Error 403: Forbidden not sure how to fix this. I tried changing my portal again but there was an error and I already reset my iptv too. I just updated to the new version hoping that would help but get the same message. If anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it the help would be great.

Thanks very much couch potato. I downloaded and installed potatoTV in my fire stick. IPTV works fine, but VOD's don't work for me. I hear the sound (no pic) for about 10 seconds, then I see the circle buffering to 100%, but no picture or sound after that! Would appreciate help on this.

Has anyone seen this ? When I click IPTV or VOD it hangs on Working. I am currently set on portal p2.iptvprivateserver.tv, if I choose another portal I get a failed Mac. On checker page I am set to the same portal (p2.iptvprivateserver.tv) as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have also done reset and changed Mac address still no luck.

Hey Couch...

I've been able to get the f4mtester working fine using the potato TV app but have never gotten it to work for the PVR. I use the pvr for watching TV and I use the potato TV app for watching the VOD. Often I find I have to select the TV channel multiple times for it to work using the pvr but works the very first time everytime using the potato TV app. I prefer using the pvr for TV since it gives me the epg as well.

Can you possibly give me a lil guide about how to get the f4mtester working on the pvr as well.

Edit.. also I read earlier in the conversation that if I wished to get info for movies in the VOD section I needed to use both donation and Mac options. Has anyone seen this ? When I click IPTV or VOD it hangs on Working. I am currently set on portal p2.iptvprivateserver.tv, if I choose another portal I get a failed Mac. On checker page I am set to the same portal (p2.iptvprivateserver.tv) as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have also done reset and changed Mac address still no luck.

I've been able to get the f4mtester working fine using the potato TV app but have never gotten it to work for the PVR. I use the pvr for watching TV and I use the potato TV app for watching the VOD. Often I find I have to select the TV channel multiple times for it to work using the pvr but works the very first time everytime using the potato TV app. I prefer using the pvr for TV since it gives me the epg as well.

Can you possibly give me a lil guide about how to get the f4mtester working on the pvr as well.

you have to ensure that the server is ON
if it is OFF, you have to click "Server: START"

5. clear both TV & EPG DATA

6. quit KODI

7. you may also delete TV*.db & Epg*.db in Kodi/userdata/Database/

8. restart KODI

9.click "Server: STATUS"

which version of potatoTV are you using now?

if you're running the latest one, there is a new option available for clearing both IPTV & VOD caches

Hi Couch, yes I am using the latest version from the repository zip which i had to download manually via my computer because strangely enough when I add the hxxps://is.gd/anti_social to my file manager in Kodi 17 and select install from zip it appears the directory is empty. The instructions you gave regarding getting the f4mtester to work for the PVR I have done many times from when it was posted after releasing the new version of Potato TV (I follow this thread daily... so i am well aware of what everyone is saying as well as you).

To be 100% certain I even removed Kodi 17 completely last night and installed a fresh copy installed Potato TV and the required apps like f4mtester the simple iptv plugin for services and did everything as you instructed, only thing I was unable to do of course is disable PVR due to me using Kodi 17 which doesnt have that option. Unfortunately I was unable to get f4mtester to work with the PVR, also I was unable to get Plot info for VOD, I am completely clueless as to where I am going wrong... unless of course its because I am using Kodi 17.

it will make an alias for your real url
it will redirect you to the real url, only if your client allow it

thus, I would ask you to do a little test:

1. quit kodi
2. open windows file-explorer
3. go to %APPDATA% folder
4. find kodi folder, then rename it with kodi.ori
5. restart kodi
6. re-install my addon (only 1 addon which is mine)
7. run my addon
8. quit kodi
9. repeat steps #2 & #3
10. delete kodifolder
11. rename kodi.ori with kodi

if my addon can work, thus your other addons might conflict with mine

1 channel (CNN US HD) was played in the video mode with F4M Tester

2 channels (WAPA & WAPA2) were played in the pvr mode with F4M Tester + IPTV Simple Plugin Player


my video can prove your pre-mature conclusion is totally wrong!

you will see that all of your issues didn't happen on my side... not even a video lag or buffering

all channels will be stopped normally, only if I press the stop/back button

yep! I was also noticing the same issue last night

apparently it was just a temporary bug from the server
the server gave the wrong path (improper port #) for all iptv & vod icon

but apparently it's already solved now

all tv logos & vod posters are displayed properly

save the file

Turn off video acceleration. System>Video>Acceleration>untic allow hardware acceleration. If using android, untic all 3 or experiment with them. For most it works best with no hardware acceleration.

I installed Potato app for first time and is working fine but i have a question. I get the channels to work (no numbering through - don't know if its like that), but i'm not getting the guide within the Video addon. I can get the guide through the IPTV PVR side (TV, then guide), but not inside Potato. your latest version is a lot more stable. Previous ones I had to disable as it locked up on loading when starting Kodi. So far no issues with your latest.

FYI running Kodi 17.2 (with nightly updates). ARM7.1, Android 5.1.1 API level 22 BOX: MXIII-G Build# 108L1 Kernal Version 3.10.33 (Oman's)

for better performance, you could try the FTMC instead of the original Kodi
which support your video (amlogic) with hardware acceleration

I have a non jailbroken IOS device with Kodi, and want to get your addon on there. Or only works by downloading zip? Hope that makes sense.

I think you could download my file with your non jailbroken device's browser

you could still download my file with any different device/gadget
then you could re-upload it into your own dropbox folder or your own iCloud
then you can download it with your non jailbroken device using dropbox client

or you could also use SAMBA / AFS / DLNA to create your own sharing local host

but I think, either browser or dropbox is the easiest way

Sorry I started a new thread but see you would like all questions contained in this thread.
First, thank you for the work on this, it looks pretty slick so thought I would give it a go but I am obviously doing something wrong to install it. I end up with the standard message that the addon installed but then it is immediately followed with an error message and to check the log for more info. I dont have pic posting permissions (not enough rep points I guess) so I can't show a pic of the log file but among other text a line says "IOError: (2, 'No such file or directory /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.potatoTV/foreign" and then the screen is cut off and cant see anymore of the log text. Im assuming a necessary file doesnt exist.

weird! I was trying to simulate the same process (using the same portal & the same acc. type and running the pvr simple without vpn)
but I have not got the same issue as yours for almost 2 hours

yep! maybe you may have to use your o/s filemanager to remove all caches completely in
Kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.potatoTV

the fastest way to install my repo is by installing it from the zip
then you can install the potatoTv addon thru' the repo itself

Disable Live Tv
Clear Live Tv Data
Clear Guide Data
Go to the SImple Client PVR
default the info for that as well
Clear Cache Purge Packages Clear thumbs
Exit and Reload Kodi

Go to potato tv enter your personal info and select vipers guide option
Select your local time zone
Ensure live tv is working via the addon
Once it is Then click the button to setup pvr
Clear Cache Purge Packages Clear Thumbs
Exit and Reload Kodi
Enable Live Tv

because I haven't got one since the first test :confused:

and unfortunately,
your log doesn't tell us anything about my addon "plugin://plugin.video.potatoTV" either

I would ask you to:

turn on: the system | settings | system | logging | ENABLE DEBUG LOGGING
quit & restart kodi
repeat the whole process until you get the sama error


then send me these 2 files: PRIVATELY

the log file
the channels' cache file Kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.potatoTV/[your_portal]/channels.json


you should also choose a channel which also works (watchable) in the video addon e.g. HBO EAST HD
the UK channels seems down ATM

the Donation + MAC account will not work with kodi's favourites/bookmarks

because you have to frequently refresh its token to get a new password

if you insist to have any channels, you have to change your account to Donation Only which uses the same donation # for both id & password

401 error?
the similar error with 403 & 404,
they tell you that the channel is being down ATM

if you're using the donation only account,
you will get the same error if you play it with any other player, e.g. vlc

which can perform the auto-refresh for a new token when the prev. one lose its session

if you compare these cache files: channels.json vs potato.m3u
you will see that the channels.json uses static links,
which can't be saved into favourites list

Which guide option did you select ?

Right now im using viper and its pulling a great epg...

Disable PVR Simple Client
Go to System Settings Live Tv
Clear Live Tv Data
Clear Guide Data

GO into your potato settings make sure viper is selected for egp and set your timezone
Re-Click the Pvr setup button in the addon
GO back to simple client
Enable
Clear Cache Purge Packages and Clear Thumbs
Reboot Device
Wait for it to load

You should have a pretty pretty guide

You aren't able to add source with couch's repo as you are familiar with others

simplest way is to use a pc download the zip through a browser and save to usb and load manually

alternatively you can open a browser on your device and download that way.

I love your work. The last version worked great on my Krypton install. Now I am having a problem with the new update. The first problem I had with the new update was Kodi would crash while the guide was loading. I cleared data, reinstalled kodi and did a fresh install of Potato. Now Potato will not load the guide or m3u links into Simple Client. The settings remain blank in PVR Simple Client. I can watch IPTV and VOD through the Potato app, but of course there is no guide. When I press TV guide in the app it tells me to clear caches and click on settings: PVR Simple Client. When I do that I choose Normal EPG then Viper...I get a quick working animation and it never updates PVR Simple Client.

Do you know what I could be doing wrong?

One good thing is that when I play the channels through the app, the channel numbers are numbered the way I am used to. 200 CNN, 300 HBO...etc Is there anyway to keep the channels numbered the same?

if you read the whole pages of my thread (start from page #10)
you will know that I've already got the patch for the backend channel # issue

but... I still keep it in my locked Pandora Box lol

if you open the addon settings' tweaks, the option for the backend channel is still gray on purpose

and it will remain disabled until I see a looooooooooooooot of magic words spreaded here in my thread

I noticed under the VOD listing that some of the VOD TV Series are not under the Folder TV Series, is this a server issue? Can the TV Series actually be moved under the TV Series, it would actually be nice to have a Movies folder and a TV folder, is that possible?

yep! it's a server issue
the genre for some movies in tv series have not defined (nulled )

I've already made a patch in the latest update v.1.2.0-r3
after running it, you have to run the clear caches: iptv + vod

if I were you, I would try:


uninstalled the current wive
dumped it to the bin and cleared all caches
browsed around to find any trial ones
picked the most new fresh young, hot and pretty one which had errorless
installed it
if something went wrong, repeated the step #1

the SUPERCARTOONS is accessed thru' 3rd party addon (cartoons8 by metalkettle)
my addon will only run as a shortcut which will redirect you to the real plugin

I'm not planning to patch the addon (I have to ask permission with the coder/metalkettle first)
thus, for a temporary solution:

when you get the same issue (the same screen as your screenshot)

quit my addon (kodi still opened)
open your browser
go to this url:

re-open my addon and re-run the SUPERCARTOONS

the same regex works if you perform my tricks above

the issue's is due to the missing cookie
the host site (supercartoons.net) requires you to push some info within the cookie which has not been saved by the addon
I think the coder (metalkettle) did not program his addon to deal with the cookie

maybe I will try to develop my own addon (maybe lol)
or you may wait until the coder release the new update

First off wanted to say thank you for all your hard work. I think I can safely say we love Potato TV.

I've never had any real problems with the add-on and any time I've ran into something people here in the thread have been great.

I had it running perfectly on my H96 Pro+ box but today I decided to update the firmware because it came with the new Android 7.1.1.

Anyway, I re-installed everything from scratch and everything is working except for Potato TV. I put in all the information like before but when I go to Clear: Caches.....I get the choices like always (I choose IPTV + VOD Caches) and also choose to generate new token and BAM....RED letters Clear Cache: FAILED too many values to unpack.

I wonder if you or anyone here has seen that error?

If I choose just to clear the cache but don't generate a new token, then it works.

In any case.....keep up the good work with your kick ass program. You ROCK!!!!


P.S. I'm also send lots of PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE for you Love-O-Meter......I would love to get the channel back-end sync.

The only thing I can possibly point to is that some other Kodi add-ons did update before and it's making it fail. I might be totally barking up the wrong tree but just in case here are the add-ons that were installed:

- URLResovler
- Playlist Loader
- .XunityTalkRepository
- .Xunity Talk iStream Extensions
- Muckys Common Libraries.

Like I mentioned before, I might be totally wrong about the add-ons but oddly enough now I cannot clear the cache and generate a token anymore.

Anyway, I re-installed everything from scratch and everything is working except for Potato TV. I put in all the information like before but when I go to Clear: Caches.....I get the choices like always (I choose IPTV + VOD Caches) and also choose to generate new token and BAM....RED letters Clear Cache: FAILED too many values to unpack.

I wonder if you or anyone here has seen that error.

It sounds like your saved settings are not correct or are corrupted. Try reconfiguring from defaults, and you should get the password protection fixed. Latest Potato TV version is 1.3.1-r2 The adult PPVs and TV series were recent adds to the service offerings.

If you are referring to PVR functions like record and timeshift, then no. Stalker backend does not support Recording features
If you really have a need to record, you can switch to the Playlist method, and use a player like VLC, which will record "what you are watching".

you wont get nothing if you put it as source since the repo is not set to install trough source for fire stick download adfire and send the file ( repo) to the firestick the used the install from zip file and it will install

I have the same thing happen to me pretty often. When I get no action from the pvr, it will usually resolve the problem by simply exiting Kodi and going back in. Clearing the cache inside of Potato tv isn't going to have any influence on your pvr and playlist. However you can also clear you Kodi cache (temp) and maybe solve some problems. You don't have to use any app to do this as it can be done manually by deleting all the files in the temp directory (in android; cache directory in windows). But as I said, normally just rebooting Kodi fixes this for me.

I don't always exit out of the app in my android setup. Most times I just hit the power button and have it sleep (Minix box). I also usually always have Kodi running on my HTPC and just use alt, tab to use another window if I need to use any functions other than Kodi. I don't usually have to mess around with the cache anymore since I started using the playlist feature.

hmm.. it seems that your potato (gateway) server was being forced down (due to any hardware conflict)

FYI,
the pvr client requires the online server to help it comunicating with the stalker server
in order to convert the m3u playlist item to the proper streaming link/url

you have to ensure that your potato server is always ON

when you get the same issue, you should check the server status to find out if it's ON / OFF
when it's OFF, you have to re-enable it by clicking the "Server START" button

You're kind of missing the forest for the trees here. What Couch said was that you should check the SERVER status and ensure that it is ON if you are having problems. If you continue to have the same problem, you might have a PORT conflict. This could happen because of other apps or addons in your setup. In Potato TV you can change the PORT to anything above 8000 to avoid conflicts.

As for ChCh and London Live working when others don't, that's because they are not streamed from NFPS' servers. They are online websites that are freely available and in theory, should ALWAYS work.

I recommend to perform those tricks in order to get the pvr's playlists refreshed / updated
especially when your pvr client is using a dynamic playlist generated by an addon (like my potato)

FYI,
pvr simple client using all data stored in its database (Kodi/userdata/Database/TV*.db) to generate its playlist
but the problem is kodi does not update the database automatically
although you're running an addon which generates a dynamic playlist

you have to perform ken's tricks to get your database updated manually

especially when you're running my potato and enable the option to include the VOD with the m3u playlist
you will not get a refreshed playlist with the latest VOD updates, until you perform ken's tricks manually

PLEASE NOTE:

the addon version has been frequently updated lately
and some of the newer version has a different handshaking algoritm/codes compared to the previous one

so, IT IS A MUST!
you have to perform ken's tricks when your addon gets updated


with kodi 16, I'm used to do following tricks to get the playlist updated:


disable kodi's live-tv
clear kodi's tv & epg data
run my addon
clear caches for both iptv & vod
run pvr auto-settings
quit & restart kodi (not necessarily!)
re-enable kodi's live-tv

an to make it easier for tracing apple-to-apple comparison, please follow my steps sequentially

if it doesn't change anything, you could following these steps:


open the playlist cache (Kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.potatoTV/[your_portal]/potato.m3u)
find a link for the trouble channel
e.g HBO = http://your_ip:your_port/play?channel=HBO+East+HD
open the o/ browser
try browsing this url:

http://your_ip:your_port/online
if everything is ok, the browser will tell you: "Yes. I am."
if it does not, you have to click the "Server: START" within my addon and retry the step #4 until it says online
when the sever is on, browse the URL which you got from the cache
http://your_ip:your_port/play?channel=HBO+East+HD
if everything is ok, the browser will redirect you to download a *.ts file (cancel it)
if it doesn't, the browser will only redirect you to download the philips' .mp4 file (cancel it)



if your browser is able to redirect you to download any file, either *.ts or *.mp4 file
but your pvr client fails (no response)

you could try to quit kodi & go to the database directory (Kodi/userdata/Database/), then remove all TV*.db and Epg*.db manually

You cant you need to have service with one of the 3 supported sub's since you don't have a donation number you don't have one of the 3 services
