Hi guys!

I've dabbled with Kodi and some free options before, closing on a house next week with a Satellite dish already installed with everything intact, and I want to sign up for one of the three severs on this forum.

Understand that the 3 IPTV servers on this forum (all from the same company) come with free IKS. I still need to buy a STB, currently debating between the Mag 254 if I want only IPTV or the Dreamlink T6 for both IPTV and IKS.
Basically, I'm at a stopping point, and would like to know more about the differences between IPTV and IKS in terms of the user experience. While I could just buy the Dreamlink T6 and try them both out, it seems like the Mag 254 is the better IPTV experience from what I've gathered on the forums.

My question is for those who have actually used both IKS and IPTV:
What is the difference in video quality? Lag? Resolution?
What is the difference in audio? Does one use less compression or a higher bit-rate compared to the other?
Which has channels that go down more often, or that take longer to come back on?

I understand that some predict that IKS is dying and IPTV is the future; I'm not looking to future-proof for what might happen in 5 or 10 years--I'm really just focused on the quality as of today.

Thank you in advance! :)

i would buy a used intel nuc pc off ebay and load with ubuntu linux (free software) or a legit copy of windows 7 also on ebay. use that to run Kodi and watch tv. if you already have a mini pc another excellent option would be a Nvidia Shield TV andriod streaming and game playing machine. If you already have a pc this is your best option.

iks works well with a dreamlink T5 with the HD module.

performance in the last two weeks iptv has far exceeded the quality of iks and will probably only get better with time.
