im a rookie owning a mag 254 .. i heard that mag is iptv and not kodi .. what is kodi?

IPTV is live TV
KODI is like Video on Demand (but also had some live feeds but not as good a selection depending on what your looking for)

Having both is like having cake and eating it too !!
All depends on what you watch and how you watch it. If your a PVR kinda person and watch everything after the fact on your own schedule then Kodi is perfect for you.
If you prefer to watch your TV live on their schedule then IPTV is it.

i come from the coolsat 6000 era, then nfusion , then dreamlink.. and a couple weeks ago my mag 254 came in the mail.. i have ordered like 5 already.. just found out kinda what kodi is about 10 min ago but is still very new to it.. i just have 2 questions ,.. what makes it unique and special. and what is the best kodi box out there?

The best one is the one which will combine both kodi but also the option of iptv.
Always look at the resolution and the CPU of the device and compare it to the rest.

Just read thru some of the forums discussing different boxes.
Take notice of the avov boxes. They are not kodi, but not unlike either, just easier :)

avov has addons/apps same as what you find with Kodi, just with avov the apps are limited. You don't have to do all the work yourself with avov, the avov box does it for you.
The avov also does IPTV with the TVOnline app.
Avov has two receivers to date. The Avov Vixo1 and the Avov TvOnline models.
The Vixo would need to install the app (the receiver does everything for you here), then IPTV works.
With the TVOnline model, that tvonline app is pre-installed/built into the user interface.
TVONline model has less addons available compare to Vixo1 model.

Avov is almost best of both worlds.
