The catch up works great as long as there is a programming guide. If there is no guide I can't get the catch up feature to work at all.
Is there a fix for this or am I doing something wrong. It works either way on a mag and lets me pause live tv which this won't.

I understand that but it won't work if there's no guide. If it says no information it won't work. It should work regardless of a guide.

I see what your saying..and I agree it's an odd bug but really if yiu think about it if there's no epg there's no way for it to know how far into the recording you want to go right..that's how it works for Kodi anyways it just fast forward to a point in the week long or day long recording

Since it is primarily an IPTV box it should work. On a mag I can pause anytime while I'm watching live and go back whether there's a guide or not. Unfortunately with most services the guides are hit or miss sometimes.
Other than that it's one of my favorite boxes. If i get up at 8am on want to go back to 7am to watch the beginning of the news I have to hope the guide is working or I'm out of luck. I know it works on the mag, I have to check on the T1.

They have been great with updates and I'm sure they will address this. A little more tweaking and this box should be the top box out there.

The guide not showing up is the fault of the provider not Buzztv.
The problem is with no guide the catchup won't work.

Where's the best place to purchase one of these? I ordered one from eBay MYGICA seller and was sent the wrong box. I have read this forum and seeing there are two different versions? Please advise!

so I ordered a buzz tv xpl2000 from ebay and was sent a atv 1900 pro instead. Mygica says they can load the buzztv firmware onto it. Should I send the ATV back or keep it?

The guide is really out of this world and makes mag guide look awful

The guide on the Buzztv is far superior to the mag, quicker and much better layout. If the guide is not working(fault of the provider) then catch up won't work.
It does still work on the mag regardless of whether the channel has a guide.

No they wouldn't pay for return shipping so they let me keep the box. But I really want the Buzz TV. How does the EPG compare to the one on T1 Plus to those who have both boxes?

I have bought many times from that same e-bay seller (I believe he is part of the buzztv Co ) He has always been up front and accommodating ..........He once sent a wrong item....told me to keep it and quickly sent me the correct item..........no extra charge .........I'm surprised you have not gotten a Buzztv Box yet........You have been talking about it for months

Sounds strange to me because if you can prove you can the incorrect item like sending him pics, then I think it shouldn't be an issue. I have ordered one and I pray I get the latest version. Can't wait!

Hey i just purchased a BuzzTV and i love the box however i am having some epg issues. As you can see in the pictures attached it is 7pm and "The Italian Job" is on. However in the single channel epg it shows that its playing at 12:30pm and on the full epg it says Casino is playing at 7pm on that same channel. I'm liking the box so far but an air mouse seems to be a must have because apps like Netflix are just downright awful to work with given they are the Android OS version and not the one designed for TV.

Also, I'm currently with Voodoo IPTV server but many channels aren't working like Disney. Can anyone check to see if Disney is working on their server/provider? Just wondering if its a provider issue or just everyone is down.

Lastly, any recommendations on IPTV servers?

I purchased mine from the same seller, I believe that every transaction cannot go wrong and these things happen. It's how they are dealt with that matters to me.

You can Google buzz iptv and a few options will be there including patriot electronics and Amazon, no one merchant is the best in my opinion and all have varying prices.

I just got one of these to check out. I am using ACE IPTV service and when I enter the details I get this "Loading... Handshake started" screen that doesn't go away and I cant access LiveTV because of it. I got promted to update as soon as I clicked on LiveTV so I did that. I have tried a full reset but the same thing is happening.

Anyone know what I should do next?

Also when I try to access the Google PlayStore it asks for my email when I enter the correct details it then asks for my last remembered password and security questions then tells me it cant verify the account is mine?

I too am using ACE but didn't run into any of those problems you suggested. I've heard of people resetting to factory default a few times to iron out some issues. What version of the BuzzTV app are you on?

1.5 I have factory reset a few times now same thing happens every time just get stuck on this handshake started.

Did you just put the portal url then enter your username and password under user credentials or did you enter the full m3u url with username and password included in it?

When I put the portal url ace-tv.xyz:25461/c then my user and pass in user credentials it tells me username or password is incorrect even though they are not and when I put the full m3u url in with username and pass included it just gets stuck on handshake started.

Could be that your problem is the IPTV Service your using and not the box..............Try using NFPS---Rocket-iptv.....or 66IPTV services .............My Buzztv with those services don't have an EPG problem

Just a query I have with the guide and I hope someone can weigh in on it......When i pull up the EPG like the one above and certain programs begin at like 9:30 a.m. you cannot see what is on. I can only see what is coming up at the top of the hour, so the space between 9:00 - 9:30 is blank, the program coming up next is highlighted but when clicked it sets the reminder feature instead. Do you guys think it's a provider issue or the unit software, thanks.

I contacted service provider about my EPG issue and of course they denied it was their fault even though i've loaded other service providers and the EPG is fine. I guess i am just stuck right now since there doesn't seem to be any resolution in sight.

This is what is on the IPTV Rocket main page. So they do not allow users to use their VPN's when connecting to their servers?

Well seeing as they pretty much denied it was their issue i think im going to return the box. A correct EPG is a big seller for me and was the only reason i got this box. However this is what they replied with in their email

"Usually this issue is from the service provider as we go by Universal Time CodeIf the provider is not using Universal Time Code, then the EPG time goes by the servers time."

I tried a different service and while the grid guide showed the correct time, the popup one using the "ok" button does not. But atleast the grid guide which I think is the main one and the one that matters is accurate

For me, the grid guide showed the correct time but showed the wrong program listed on the epg so its really useless.

The issue is that some providers use server time for EPG instead of UTC, but their EPG data is timed correctly.
Buzz app was only grabbing Server Time, but now it will grab Server Time and Epg Data time slots.

So EPG will show the correct time and information on next update for those of you that have had this issue.

I couldn't get the stock Netflix app to work on this box.

When you click the mouse button, click on the left or right arrows and the cursor appears. It moves kinda slow so be mindful of that. Some say an air mouse works better, I never tried it though

Good news, the sort button in the EPG only gives two options as well; to display channels in numerical or alphabetical order only. Can there be an option to move channels in the favorites list?

That's not actually accurate. The bug IS with the Buzz box. The stalker server software is standard - meaning all the boxes have to adhere to the same code and options/arguments. There isn't any options/arguments in the stalker server software that is used to support "specific" boxes (ex. dreamlink, Buzz, MAG).

It works fine on a MAG, so it will work fine on the Buzz, as long as they (buzz) have implemented it PROPERLY.

There is nothing that can be done "server side" in order to add support for the Buzz Box (or any box)... As I said before, the stalker server software doesn't know what brand of box is connecting to it - and there are no arguments you can add to the server to support specific boxes.

Its up to Buzz to use existing stalker server arguments in their BuzzTV app, to fix these issues.


Hope that clarifies it for some. There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding who is responsible for what.



EDIT: Just read the remainder of posts and see that Buzz has confirmed the bug (hopefully the same bug), and will hopefully push the fix in the next update. Hopefully that will happen soon - please keep us posted!

I might pick one up again soon. That new EPG looks amazing.

I hope they fix the catch up feature so it works even if no guide is present. I want to ditch my mag once and for all. That's the only problem I have with the box.

What needs changing also is the info popup. When the info button is pressed, channel info and other stuff should be displayed at the bottom of the screen instead of the little square box in the top left hand corner.

Fixes the epg time issue and other things.

@satman - Not sure how you can share the server you are using that has catchup for channels without epg.

What needs changing also is the info popup. When the info button is pressed, channel info and other stuff should be displayed at the bottom of the screen instead of the little square box in the top left hand corner.

This is how their interface is designed for the channel info bar to be at the top.

So I don't think they will change it

Anyway of getting the stock Netflix app that comes with the box to work? I was hoping to get the TV experience Netflix app but the stock app won't open for me when launching, it gives me an error message - can't recall what that error is right now.

Otherwise, Netflix is pretty useless without an air mouse for this box.

Then this issue can be looked at.

Epg's are not reliable with most iptv services. If you want it to be a real iptv box it has to be able to use the catch up features without a guide. The mag does it with no problem. It should be an easy fix. It should not be dependent on a guide, it should be able to go back by time also.
You should also be able to pause any channel that has catch up, the mag ca n do this, the buzz cannot at this time.
I want them to fix this because other than this problem and some other minor things, this is the best box out there by far.

Yes I've checked but seems the Netflix app in the Aptoide TV market is the same version that is available through google play store. In other words, it's not the TV version of the Netflix app.

Did that when I first got the box but same problem persisted even after doing a factory reset. Are you saying that the stock Netflix app works on your box? What region do you live in? What if this is region dependent or something.

Tried this but it did not automatically re-install Netflix after I uninstalled it. I also recently did a factory reset and same thing, stock Netflix app doesn't work. how did you get it to reinstall Netflix automatically?

Before when you uninstalled apps and then reboot they automatically reinstalled themselves during boot. Haven't noticed it happening now though.

yea I uninstalled KODI 16.1 that comes preloaded with the box....after rebooting it......I saw that Kodi was reinstalled via an update..........What I did was uninstalled Kodi 16.1 again and then in google play downloaded Kodi 17.3.....rebooted the box and no more kodi 16.1............17.3 replaced it...............should work with Netflix............My stock preinstalled netflix though works just fine............

But doesn't Kodi just load the Netflix app we already have installed on the box itself? At least that's what happens with me - it loads apps installed on the box from within Kodi. I have buzztv box . from last week i am having problem. when i go to system then server. there are no server or portal option. I try to reset to factory reset. it's not working. any one know how to fix this.

Try holding green button on remote. Some versions of the software require you to do that in order to see the portal and url input fields.

Kodi is completely separate and has nothing to do with stand alone apps.................

I've been having this very issue and it comes and goes... It was happening again today so I unplugged my box, plugged it back in, seemed to fix it for a while and then it started happening again. It's not my connection as I've tested it and the router, getting 60Mpbs on a wired connection.

Hi,

I am having an odd issue with my BuzztTV app I am hoping someone can shed some light on. For clarification I did all the updates and rebooted the XPL 2000 before configuring the IPTV Server and my providers EPG is solid, not to mention another customer of the provider has the same box and has not had the same issue. Also I have it hard wired via gigabit ethernet and 50 Mbps Download from my Internet Provider

What is happening is the grid style EPG is not working properly. A Majority of the channels are blank, some are stuck on the LOADING message, and the odd channel that has epg data is always 2-3 hours forward. For example if it is 9PM, the few channels that have info, the info is for whats on at 11 PM. If I scroll forward on this channel past the 11 PM mark, then Bamn ALL the channels epg info are now populated, but I am unable to scroll back to the correct time as I assume you cannot scroll back or forward if there is no EPG data. The weird thing is that on these few channels that have the epg data, its always 2 hours ahead of the correct time (the epg info is correct for what is on at that time though). So, if I look at the epg at 9pm lets say. The three to four channels with actual info will be populated at 11PM on along with all the other channels. If I turn off the box and try again at say 11PM, the epg data on those same channels are blank until 1 AM and when I scroll pass the 1AM mark, again Bamn all the channels now have EPG info.

Hopefully this makes some kind of sense as I tend to ramble. Any help would be very much appreciated

To me this sounds like a bug and I remember reading a Reddit post mentioning this bug, but it is wierd that another customer who has the same box does not have this issue.

Funny thing is that the last update fixed all this, and everyone here can agree to that. So I'm thinking this particular update hasn't been pushed to your buzz as yet.

By the way, hit the three-lined button on your remote and tell us what version it is saying. Look right down at the bottom of that side panel.

This sounds like a time zone issue on your box

When you setup the box, did you change the date and time zone to match your location?

The box is defaulted to -5:00 for time zone, and it does not auto detect your location based on ip. You have to manually set it up.

You can find the date and time settings on the home screen then go to settings. You will find it on this page.



Try it out and see if this helps

There's no other way to access the porn without the password. You may not have the worry of kids playing around with the TV but many others do. So it's a function of the providers.

I find the secondary plays best, channel change is much quicker

I believe it was said in this same thread that an update is coming that will fix this.

If you want to click on a particular app, it jumps to the app next to it or any other random app. It's a glitch.

As of today i heard that they will push through an update in 10 days for the xpl 3000 to give it the enhanced functions ...? Until then it will be about the same as the xpl 2000

on first boot.. I noticed the following:

- UI is the same for the time being
- Box is also a bit larger than the xpl2000.
- Kodi 17.4 preloaded
- I also notice a marginal imrovement in wifi performance
- Buzz TV2 is the name of the app on this box. version is 1.5 (77) and has a pvr option in the buzz tv menu where I can select internal or usb storage, however, I don't see the option to record anything at this point
- Everything else is the same look and feel at this point

Will do some testing from within kodi later on tonight

I did do some testing tonight in Kodi, ran an integrated iptv services and what not. Performance in kodi is noticeably more responsive than the 2000 (I'm assuming this has to do with processor)

Currently you must use the MyGica 681 USB ATSC tuner on the box and then DTV Player app which gets installed from the current Firmware update to use it
It also works with DVB-T/T2 (Using a different MyGica DVB-T/T2 Tuner) for those of you not in North America/South Korea who use ATSC signal.


Their will be an app update later that will allow you to view the channels from ATSC inside the Buzz app, it is currently being worked on along with many other features and upgrades etc.

Mine works fine in the EPG but it might be a provider issue. For me, as I scroll page to page it populates beautifully

If you have another box handy (mag, dreamlink), you should try one of those to rule out the box or server.

It very well could be the box but I am not sure. When I had mine, there were plenty of bugs/issues that affected the Buzz but not the Dreamlink or MAG. However, that was some time ago now.

So if you can, try the same server on another box and see if it is affected as well. If it is affected - server issue. If it isn't affected - box issue.

The servers don't run special code to accommodate the Buzz, its just the same old middleware running on all the boxes. Different "features" have to be configured by the box makers to work WITH THE SERVER, and not the other way around. I feel a lot of people forget this, and it allows issues to persist for some time because not all servers show the same symptom/issue. So some users experience 0 problems and are understandably under the impression the issue is server related. Some server seem to work 100%.

I suspect lots of these issues are related to the specific servers stalker version being a newer one, which the Buzz may not fully support yet. Although this is just a guess and shouldn't be taken as fact.

My ISP is Cogeco. So seems like it's not ISP related. It's annoying as hell though. I spoke with one other use who has the buzz 3000 box an apparently the latest update on that box resolves the issue but the buzz 2000 hasn't received that update?

Netflix app that came with the Buzztv Box. 2000 and 3000 was the HD version...but its not working...........they said they may have to replace it with the SD version.......in the meantime you can use Netflix from the play store or Apptoid market...but you will have to use an air mouse................

I was just wondering, whoever has the xpl 3000 can they use APK extractor to get the buzztv APK so we can install it on our xpl 2000's? Its a longshot but anything to fix this stupid EPG bug on Vader's will be great!

Yeah, not isp related after some tests. The glitch is easily replicated everytime I scroll through the EPG quickly. Really annoying, hope the fix comes soon.

Happened to me last night but overall it's only the second time I've had this glitch.

Also, has anyone gotten the rewind 1 day to work? I've tried multiple different IPTV servers where in the EPG the << icon is there for some of the channels indicating you should be able to go back in time to play something you've missed but when I'm viewing the EPG, I can't seem to go back, no matter what button I try to press. It allows me to go forward a day, but not backward.

Oh, and the last question I have is whether there's any way to hide the status bar at the top of the screen where the notifications go? I've noticed that in the Netflix and Plex apps, the status bar stays there during video playback and it actual cuts off the very top portion of the video being played. This was never a problem in Plex before but the recent update to the Plex App from the Aptoide store now keeps the status bar at the very top.

There's an update for Aptoide available but it doesn't install on my box as it says it's unsafe to install as it's requesting access to track everything I do. Should I ignore the warning and install anyways?

The only server with the catchup function that works with the buzztv is ** * * * *. I've tried multiple servers and none of them work with catch up except for that one. Also for Aptoide, I used the mouse to ignore the warning. Doesn't really matter to me as I use a throw away Gmail account.

Bug seems like it got worst on my box :/ Now when I scroll through the EPG too fast it just kicks me out of the app. On top of that I'm also getting glitches when I scroll too fast on the other EPG where it lists by channel names. Catch up is still not working on multiple providers. On top of that I'm a bit annoyed with there being a record button now that doesn't do anything. Thinking about reverting back to the previous build if I can find it somewhere. For those of you who want to test out the new update I had to factory reset the box to receive the update. Otherwise it just wouldn't download.

Any chance you can ask them to supply the previous buzztv apk (1.5(72) I believe)? This update is a bit too buggy for me.

I emailed buzztv about the catchup problem but they just blamed it on the provider. This update made it seemed like it would work. Before the name would not show up under the date when in the catchup screen but now it does, it just doesn't play when I click it.

that's odd.. I literally held the button down to scroll through epg for a good 30 seconds on mine without issue.

Tried, loaded a bit faster but still slow in general.

Noticed another bug though. After adding everything to the favourites and selecting a show to watch, clicking on the epg button will show you everything in the group (Canada, USA, UK) instead of all the channels in the favourite section. A bit annoying because it wasn't like that before.

Also, I messaged the buzz team about catchup not working on the new update for most providers and they said it's because a lot of services use a modified version of stalker and the catchup only works on unmodified versions of stalker. They said they are currently looking into it but do not have an ETA for the update. Hopefully it comes before the end of this year but a part of me won't be surprised if it doesn't. Kind of wished I picked up a t1 plus instead just for catchup to work.

Yeah I mentioned this in a thread elsewhere yesterday, from my favorite list if I select a channel that is in English section, when I go back to epg it puts me straight into the English section instead of the favorites section.

It's slower than how it was before the update, which was slow to begin with, so yes it's very slow at the moment for me too...too slow

+1 so much slower with the new update. I find myself trying not to use the EPG as much which is annoying. Also I noticed another bug, some channels have EPG data but the EPG menu says no information. I can clearly see what's on when tuned to the channel but as soon as I click the EPG button it says no info or stuck on loading. So annoyed.

I am also experiencing that EPG glitch as well, the EPG with the ok button and also the info bar has what's on but with grid epg it says no information.

Same issue here. I'm also still experiencing video glitches where if I scroll through the channels too quickly on the channel listing page, half the screen starts to glitch and portions of it go black. I have to exit the Buzz TV app and restart the app.

Had that issue before the last app update, also the remote issue of clicking on something and the cursor ending up on another app and activating it

Okay let me rephrase so you understand..... I have some channels in the favorites category. While in the favorites category I select channel A, which happens to be a channel in the English category, while viewing the channel in full screen I go to a another channel by pressing the up/down or I don't change the channel at all. Let's say I then decide to go the EPG, grid or list, though the cursor is on the channel I'm viewing, the category highlighted is English rather than being the favorites, which I selected initially.

So whatever channel you are watching from your favorites, the EPG defaults back to the channel's original category. This means, I would have to select favorites again to see and select only those channels I have in it.

I've just noticed a fix was implemented in the latest update tonight. Hasn't been pushed to my device as yet but it's very good to see the buzz guys take advice and listen to tell users. Keep buzzing guys.

Since the update I cannot access VOD. I use 2 different servers and the behavior is the same for both. When I click on something to watch I get booted back to the main menu.

The 3000...can't access any of the on-deman shows I like (Game of Thrones, Curb Your Enthusiasm). I didn't try last night but this was working on Monday night.
