T1 is a great box but makes me a bit crazy at times. I set media prioritize on my router and it works until I turn my T1 off. Turn T1 back on and it changes the MAC that the network sees. What is with that? I have never seen a device do that before. It reports a different MAC to the network every time you turn it on.
My totally excellent Cisco router uses the network MAC to 1) reserve IP and 2) prioritize for media.
Captainkangaroo, this is a problem. Please see if it can be corrected in the next update of T1.

The router is not changing the MAC. The T1 is. No other device on my network does this.
Cisco router is not at fault on this.

I have also faced the same issue of MAC address changing of T1 at every reboot.
I does not matter if it has a static IP or a DHCP assigned IP. MAC on T1 will change at every reboot of T1.
Normally it does not create any issues in the functioning of T1 (if you have assigned a static IP to T1), but it will not allow router to allocate predefined IP to T1 on the basis of MAC reservation and as OP has mentioned prioritization for media will also be an issue.

This is an issue for the T1 programmers to take a look at.
Hopefully it is fixable.

I am talking about the MAC reported to my router by the device itself. Has nothing to do with VPN

try eliminating the router and use it direct to modem.

Without being unkind, you seriously do not understand the problem. The router is a required element of the network. Without it, none of the rest of my computers and such would have internet access. Direct to Modem is not an option. Thank you for trying.

Another option is try another dreamlink on your router see if that does the same issue.

I did research on your issue there are similar issues which could mean box has been rooted? if yes its called spoofing your mac ,another is where sw skips abunch of macs in there coding making it a bug. easy fix? time will tell depends how many it effects. or you can do factory default start all over. im just trying to help you.
