:I copied the latest tvonline avov software on a USB, My Build setting is 1.0.7 I put the USB into my tvonline streamer, I then power up the streamer and go to the local media. I see my USB on my tv screen. I wait a few minutes and the the fireware update comes up. I select install and it says the file is not a valid pakage. What Now??

do you have a TVOnline avov model, or do you have the Vixo1 avov model?
The recent update is for the vixo1 only
build 1.0.09
build 1.0.10

It can be confusing with the Avov having the tvonline app on board.

Instruction and files for BOTH Avov boxes now on their site. Follow instructions for your own box!!
I updated my Vix01 it was at build 1.0.10 but still going to the app store. After update it went to 1.0.11 but to my surprise would no longer go to the app store (if it aint broke don't fix it) :-(
I rebooted twice (hold down power button) but still no go, then Powered off and removed the plug for 10sec, powered backup and everything was good to go :-)

what box do you have and update
*Remember:
– Make sure your device is connected to the internet via Ethernet or WiFi then continue with the steps below. Do not pull USB/SD Card/Jump drive until the firmware installation is completed.
– Please do not download all files and put them on same drive it will not work. Its 1 USB per “update.zip” / device / firmwarm update. The file must also stay named “update.zip” for the box to recognize the firmware update.

there are 4 new update files.
Two for the Avov Vixo1 model.
Two for the Avov TVOnline model.
Each model may come with one of two builds, that's why two files for each.
So get your correct avov receiver and get the correct update file depending which build you have.
This is all explained in the directions. Don't randomly try files. Get the right one and try that same one a few times.
Couple reports that I saw, said they were successful after a few tries (with correct file)

Step 1: Check which is your build number by going to: “settings > system info > build number” you must do this read and read

also make sure your Browser is not downloading the file as an attachment... If it is, then change the file name to 'update' and try that.
Or change your Browser and use FireFox and then re-download a new copy of the update file..
Thnx papasmurf for that info :)
I had the same trouble then I found my windows. Download the file to the name( attachment) I rename it to(update) an it work like a charm
