I've never seen or heard anything about that device ID set-up. It sounds very well like it could be someone fishing for working MAC addresses and route/donation numbers. When you feed them to the site, you're giving up the information. Anyway...
I'd try disabling the PVR, setting defaults in the PVR and shutting down Kodi. Go to your Donation Checker. Make sure everything looks right: MAC address, active, route number. While there, do an IPTV Reset. Wait 15 minutes and then restart Kodi, but do not enable the PVR. While disabled, configure the PVR (with a new instruction conforming Device ID). Once completed, enable the PVR.

OK, after some trial and error, I have finally got this working. essentially doing what ilan said without seeing your post. went looking for the post stating new security measures starting Feb 1st, but can't find it. (Probably a scam, got sucked in) . fortunately I only paid for one month. I'm considering changing the mac but if the got the route number and order number they can just get it again I think. anyway its working somewhat. got lots of nonworking channels and a few bugs to figure out. being new to this it's going to be a learning curve for sure.
Glad you are up and running. i believe some new security measures were instituted on 1 February 2016. You may have run across that post and not noticed the year.
It wouldn't hurt to change the MAC, or you could take a wait and see approach. It is completely up to you. At least we're only dealing with a one month donation in this instance.

I found the thread that describes the device id calculation. It was in the iptv news and announcements section.
here's a c/p from that
5. For KODI users, getting Device ID Mismatch.
A) You must create the correct device id for your addon, this is a new security feature in order to prevent the extraction of our channels.
First go to this site:
Code:
http://www.xorbin.com/tools/sha256-hash-calculator
B) Now generate a unique key that you will use as the device ID, You must create it using your MAC, Serial Number and Donation Number in the "Data" field with the following format:
00:1A:78:00:00:00-111111J111111-123456789012
which responds to:
MAC Address - Serial Number - Donation Number
C) Once you have entered the information into the data field make click on "Calculate SHA256 Hash" and you will get a key like this:
93822bec02caa9cf8981dd487ab0ac 739144e52ab5d62375a7 a98498cb9351b1
D) Copy this key and paste it into your addon settings in the device id section.
E) Do an IPTV Reset to your donation number using the following forms depending on your service:
https://papiao.is/main/search_rocket (https://papiao.is/main/search_rocket)
https://papiao.is/main/search_nfps/ (https://papiao.is/main/search_nfps/)
https://iks66.tv/main/search/ (https://iks66.tv/main/search/)
F) - Reload KODI and try again your addon.

here's the other thread stating when this would be implemented. and it is dated 01-16-2016 , so I'm pretty sure I wasn't scammed.
Just some rookie mistakes on my part. A FOD (frickin old dude) with a bad case of CRS! lol
IPTV: Username & Password Authentication
C/P
Hello.
In order to improve the service security and stability we will implement the username and password authentication starting onFebruary 1st, the username and password will be the donation number tied to your MAC Address, this information was provided in your order details. In case you don't know your username or password please get in contact with your provider to avoid loss of service.
Those who purchased directly from us can find their username and password using the following form:
https://papiao.is/main/order/ (https://papiao.is/main/order/)
A new version of the STB Emulator and PVR Stalker (KODI Addon) will be released very soon to ensure full compatibility, is highly recommended to update to the latest version once it's available and always use our custom version of both applications.
The IPTV Stalker (KODI Addon) won't be supported anymore, unless its creator makes the necessary fixes to be compatible with our system.
Hope you understand the objetive of this security measure and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause to you.
Best regards,
NFPS Staff.
Yes, that was created to address a different issue, and it was issued in 2016, as I thought...but that's no sweat..I'm just glad you're up and running.
