Any happy MAG 256 customers?

Hi,
I just want to ask if there are actually any satisfied MAG 256 customers out there? I'm about to buy a MAG 256-W2 from Switzerland (has 802.11ac wifi) but 1 or 2 posts on the Informir forum suggest there are major issues with this unit eg lag. I'm thinking perhaps I should go for the MAG 254-W2 to be on the safe side but thought I would ask on here first.

Its a great toy....
but has issues on droping hdmi, i gived mine away t inlaws
I would plug it to my brand new sony tb and bang hdmi would drop
Go on basement plu to my Jvc and all good
Drove me and store i bought it from bananas
Tried more than one box and no go
so .... now its at inlaws house working great :)

In terms of perspective mag256 is more preferable, since it has better hardware and new software platform which is under active development and bugfixing, so you can expect new features and bugfixes for it. For mag254 don't expect new features, only bugfixes as it stable and polished device. So if you don't care about new features and current set of features/hardware on mag254 is enough for your tasks, then probably it's your choice.

Mag256 is now pretty dang stable since the latest update (took FOREVER). The only advantage the 254 has right now, is I believe it can record through the Stalker portals (BUT your IPTV sub MUST support recording too - 99% don't)
The mag254 is still a bit more stable, but I imagine when the next update comes to the 256, should be on the same level as the 254.

I've had my 256 about a month. I find it runs quite hot, crashes regularly ~ every hour or 2 with blue screen.
Wouldn't recommend it my experience is typical.
Any suggestions anyone?
It has the latest firmware.

No such problems here on my MAG 256W2. You either have a lemon MAG 256 and need to to get it replaced asap or your IPTV service might have compatability issues with the 256.
