Mag Boxes, To be or not to be, that is the ?

I am looking to set up a few older family members who are getting ripped off By cable and Satellite Crooks. I am currently using AVOV boxes, but their life dependency is up in the air :o/

What would be a good Mag Box, With Wifi Built in, Runs Smooth and Can Record ? Would love to hear your thoughts ? Any info would be helpful , Thanks :o)

Also can these Mag Boxes have settings locked ? I want to make sure they don't so how screw anything up :o/

MAG 254 is a good option, simple to setup and works great, no built in wifi (other models do have builtin wifi) you will not be able to record and no locking options once you are in the portal but you can create a favorites list.

So let me make sure I got this right, Mag 254 can record, but the Mag 254W2 Wifi Wont be able to record ? Thanks for your earlier reply and the next on in advance :)

From what I read, it is not the box that can't record, is the service that supplies the data that does not enable it on the server side. The only option is the buy an external recording device.
