My wife is from there. I've travelled there over 7 times. Really beautiful place but I disagree its safe. Maybe in El Poblado its safe but quite of few robberies in the rest of the city. Never use a cell phone or show off any money in the street. Never leave your drink unattended with a beautiful woman that you just met there (and I will agree, there smoking hot there). Look up Scopolamine aka devils breath or millionaires ride.
All in all Colombia is much safer than the Pablo Escobar days but they still have a long way to go. Tourism has increased year over year and progress is being made. Be careful if your with your wife or girlfriend. To many beautiful woman there and impossible not to look. Thanks
