Want to run in SD not HDMI.

I want to run my Mag 254 in SD but dont know the settings. Now the box is set up for HDMI and all my screen shows is a rolling screen with "change settings to SD or use HDMI cable". I dont have a spare HDMI opening but do have AV opening. Thanx for all your help in advance. This is a GREAT forum.

plug it into one of the hdmi ports temporarily to change the settings

Thanx. I can do that but I dont know what the setting should be. I tried it once and ended up with a black screen and had a hell of a time getting rid of it, so im a little gun shy. Do you know what I should change the settings to?

never changed mine to anything less than 1080, but for sd i would change to 480

dont they give you a plug to run it with for 480

they gave me one, but never plugged it in...

Yes but I didnt know what settings to use. I tried 480 and it works great. Thanx for the info.
