This is one that's been on the mind for quite some time. Anybody here play around with drones? Did you build or buy? Got good sources for info?
I'm betting that many of you have other interests besides TV. :D:D:D
The why part: I play in the dirt. It's a hobby. The proper name is "biostratigraphy". The basic idea is to survey mountainous terrain before setting out on a hike to narrow down the best targets for research. Here's an example: Pop this GPS location into Google Earth or Google Maps - they both work.

I'd rather send up a drone before having to hoof it up that hill. Been there, it's steep. ;) Plus, I carry tons of picks, hammers, axes, water, food, tablet and more on my back.
So much stuff to learn: fpv, autonomous flight, motors, controllers. I'm wondering if I should get started learning drones. HA!
