Dishnet asks to download

Hi ,guys. Have a Avon +box the last few weeks I been seeing dish keeps asking to download info in our rec,it says yes for now or postpone later.now been worried there going to download some viruses or something I been saying no,but the other day my wife was watching and I think she said yes because I seen it was downloading something.I know, it's for there receiver.but lately I see more freezing,also when I redo the channel that it freezes ,when I go back and forth. program most times starts 10 seconds backwards in the program thats on .should i be worried , anybody seen that on there box.p.s this morning can had small screen on top left,and at bottom it was asking what I wanted to do like exist and a few options but we can not touch with our receiver.do we have some to worry about ,does anyone have same on there rec or have any info.thanks

these avovs do get updates for there operating systems from time to time. These updates come thru the internet connection.
No one or no other company is messing with your box bud :)

Check the sticky thread in each avov forum here on site. You will see some threads discussing the new updates. Sometimes called OTA updates (Over The Air)
Check in System Info for current Build and etc... Next time you see the update message, check the version and then you know :)

If there is a popup menu or something like that on your screen and you can not access it to delete it, then just hit the mouse button on your remote and a mousse cursor will aopear and you can navigate with that to delete the message. Or use a wireless mouse connected to avov thru USB

That's fine .I no we get up dates it's just seen thinks like that from D... Just made me think they were trying something new to stop us.anything is possible. Look at all the different ECM they do on game day to say. But ya thanks for your input take care
