I see this If you autoupdate using Google Play, Google won't update unless Android 5 or higher is installed. so it wont install or just not update any one try yet im behind on this been told 17 is really fast and ez to use just want a little feed back on how it is on iptv and so on thanks all

I've heard that you'll need Android 6 and up for Kodi 17, don't know if that's true but I'll have to wait and see, haven't tried yet I'm waiting on the final more stable version of Kodi 17.

Kodi 17 is a pain and really doesn't add anything groundbreaking to warrant a change, right away. The one significant improvement is stability in the PVR function (but not necessarily connectivity). They made it more difficult to bulk install add-ons, because of their 'security' settings against 'insecure addons', i.e. third party add-ons. Also, as with any major release, some add-ons stop working due to missing dependencies, or other things that have changed. The new default skins are more focused toward the 'media center' aspects of Kodi, than add-ons.

C&P....

Kodi v17 now requires that Android devices run Android 5.0 or later.
If you autoupdate using Google Play, Google won't update unless Android 5 or higher is installed.

Kodi 17 has not been released yet. They are up to Alpha5 Development version.
It is not available yet at Playstore.
(But V17 will require Android 5)

16.1 is the latest version, and it runs on Android 4

if you are running an earlier version of Android, your box is probably quite old.

Hope this helps U. /kens

** And I agree with Dara.
V17 so far as I have found, is terribly laid out, and ... I just dont like it!!
Went back to 16.1
Awaiting the first RC version.

Kodi 17 is in beta 5, not alpha. If you don't like the default skin, you can go back to Confluence, it still works and is an included skin. I use Xonfluence from Helly Repo. I don't know if it's possible to run Kodi 17 on Android 4.4 if you ignore what kodi.tv says, I'm only testing 17 beta 1 on my PC.

Oops!
A before B (Duh!)
Thanks Dara, I have no problems with 16.1 now, but hated the EPG text size and the non-color categories with early Alpha versions I tested.
Will try newest version with the confluence skin. I forgot this the last time.
Cheers/ kens
