Kodi 16.1 - No audio - HDMI

Hi All,


I'm using Kodi 16.1 on my laptop. I've been using it for a year now, connected through HDMI to my TV. A month ago I've connected my laptop to my TV through WiDi to watch Kodi. Since then I have the following issue:


1. My laptop is connected to the TV via HDMI (if I play anything on the laptop the sound comes out of the TV as it should)
2. When I start Kodi I have to unplug and plug back in the HDMI cable in order to get any sound to come out of the TV. If I don't unplug the HDMI cable and shut down Kodi I don't get any audio on the TV even from VLC or Chrome (YouTube)


Could you please help me resolve this?

In system settings/system/audio - there are a couple different audio decoders. Try a different one.

try a movie at bottom right it has a sound app click that and will see box comes up turn sound up from that and save you said you get sound at start right
