Video issue

Okay with the hdmi cable it comes on fine. When i try to connect with the avi cable i get "wrong format " on tv screen..... what settings do i need to change? Because for my friend house he dosent have hdmi input tv.

Your issue seems to be the opposite of the PAL vs NTSC problem.
I would unplug the 254. Then, while holding down the Menu button, power up the 254 with the remote aimed at the box. This should bring you to a blue screen with BIOS Info. Here, I would select a lower resolution video format which is compatible with the A/V cable. Let me know if this works.

wrong format most of time is your video setting

Do different channels air in different video formats? Sometimes when I scroll through channels I will get a "video format unsupported" message. I then have to re-enter the listings to start over. It there a video setting to avoid this?
