okay this one is weird ..reading other thread forget which one now, some users mentioned getting a black screen when guide loads BUT wont open channels
in the past this has happened a few times to me and was able to uninstall the add on (stalker plus 10.1.0) loaded in kodi v16.2 and reinstall plug in (zip file) after hard boot of the box (streamer) usually twice to ensure a fresh install of stalker addon
we usually are connecting using this add on, to rocket server, on 2 exact same boxes and have had this issue on both boxes and was able to fix as stated...BUT now, on the other box everything is great (connecting via stalker plus) BUT the one box i tried and tried and tried again and again, lol to uninstall and reinstall a fresh copy of stalker add on and we still get that black screen and every attempt to open channels we get nothing...and yes all the while disconnecting the other box from rocket server (exited all the way out)
again, we get the black screen BUT we also see Canadian channels logos while scrolling the guide and they are located at the beginning of the guide (before the sky (uk) channels) none of them open of course BUT i am baffled as to why we can no longer (on this one box) same as the other exact same set-up with kodi and all that, yet, the uninstall reinstall of the same file will NOT take...seams to be a conflict with the addon but what is causing it is baffling..
in the past it was a bit tricky to fix but it eventually did but this time it just won't work..after at least 20 times now..i tried several different sequences (powering kodi, hard booting the box, etc) after each step yet we get that same guide appear without being able to connect to server..really would like a bit more guidance without having to try uninstalling and reinstalling kodi on the one box or will lose all my saved favorites and a pain in the you know what...ideas anyone? thanks
EDIT: ok got it - the one step forgot to do to get rid of that blank/black guide thus failing to load channels is do this
uninstall stalker add on reinstall and click the add on and choose your server (in mycase rocket) BUT do NOT click on it yet.. right click that server and click on clear cache and then exit kodi and reconnect kodi and bobs your uncle...stalker plus is back to norm...NOW, i havent tried the clear cache without the fresh install of stalker add on so it could be as simple as clearing cache without all the other steps but whatever works , so long as the clear cache is done...sorry for the thread but hope this might help others, hence this EDIT ..also,
the kicker is ?? the canadian locals are still in the guide, i didnt know they were added to rocket..so far a bit unstable but better than nothing ;)
