Some channels are not all that good some quite good find most News channels good and the HD i.e. TSN, VEVO some movies like Sony are good but depends on the data they are using.

Ok..they all look great in the small window. But soon as I open up the screen the quality goes bad. Most of the news channels have bad quality.. the better quality channels are mostly the sport channels that I don't watch.. thanks anyway

Please, take your MAG and go to your friend. Connect your MAG to his TV and compare. Is it the same "good" quality of both boxes?

you seem to have your op as 480 NTSC 4:3 . you need to switch to 720p
its in the INTERNAL PORTAL ..
the fact you have got a HDMI lead connected dont mean it is 720p

good idea epapress that was going to be my next step.. im going to hook up the 3rd box this weekend to see what it looks like.. my settings is at 1080i in the settings.. i tried all of the resolution settings .. my tv will reject the low quality settings . when i put the mag on a lower quality setting my tv will tell me that the device reolution doent match up with the tv.. and no picture will show at all.. after it did that i had to take the mag to another tv and put it back on the 1080i settings.. i ave tried also the 1080p setting.. it isnt better

you cant set it to 1080i - there are no broadcasts
set to 720p
1280x720
24/60hz
you need to plug it into another TV set

update on this post.. i tried the mag at somebody elses house in another town.. and it showed up better than at my house they had different internet and a smaller tv .. i tried somebody else house in my town they had the same internet and same size tv maybe even bigger and the quality was the same as mine.. which leads me into thinking that the internet is the root cause of quality performance.. thanks for the help guys.. im still a mag 254 fan.. ive ordered 3.. about to get 2 more

That's how the picture looks like on IPTV, there is nothing that can be done about it, this is SD. HD channels look better, and IPTV right now has no HD channels except for a few sports channels. If you have a 1080P tv, set the mag to 1080P 60 hz. Do not set it to 720P it will not look good. This has nothing to do with your tv or your equipment, this is how the picture looks like on IPTV. Hopefully a full line of HD channels will be added, i believe it is important.

Yes the picture is just not that good right now. The people who say it is must be blind as a bat. Let's hope and pray iptv goes hd. Suxs that this day an age we have to settle for sd.

I have a 60" Sharp Quattron..I have no complains on the pic. at all...I am comparin it with my SV8HD from Iks and I see same SD and HD follow the below instruction I have and also I must ad if you go to other tv's make sure they are also on the same program or there will be a visible difference
108p-60
1280-720
Auto detect DVI Off
Force Off
HDMI event Immdiately

the pac 12 have a couple 1080 feeds. also if we can get nbcsn , thats always a 1080 stream. there are lots of 1080 streams, we just don't have that many hd ch

well im lost all our HD channels in E U R O P A (richest trading bloc on the planet)
are in 720p
as are the MAG BBC IPTV services ...requires about 5-7mb
cant see anyone bothering with 1080i as it will jump stright to UHD HEVC

most are not in hd quality in fact we only have a handful that are in hd , so that statement is horsecrap.

I do not think is a lie..lol..maybe missed informed...There are actually quite of few HD channels in this IPTV system..most pepps would not go to Internationals.. but there are some stunning HD programs in some Documentary channels..and others..FYI
Also, we are so lucky to have just some HD's and SD as well, since, it's all coming to an end on IKS..verry soon..So on a positive note, thanks to IPTV we will be able to enjoy some more pirate tv..and do not take anything for granted my friends..and just enjoy the moment..
Peace

Equipment is always an issue ie 19" vs a 50", price of HDMI cord, internet speed etc...
For example on my LG Smart phone all channels seem in HD, on my TV's not some much. No complaints here though...

im afraid most ´´HD ´´ channels that you see are not HD but are original HD satellite broadcasts uploaded in SD,its an old trick with PPL buying HD IPTV sports packages and just getting the HD logo in the corner and going all wide-eyed . we have true 720p HD broadcasts from the BBC and you need around 7-10mb to make them stable ...its not going well and we are putting it on hold till MAG257 comes out with HEVC (H.265) .

I changed my settings to those suggested in this thread last night - i think it helped. Some channels are better than others though. Wish I had English Premier League football in HD. But thats not for this thread.

Sorry, I dont mean to over run the thread with comments - but one general question which I think the answer might help those on this thread..... I'm new to iptv - generally speaking should I expect the HD channel picture quality to be as good as my HD channel picture quality when I was using Satelitte services (Sky TV in the UK)?
I sort of expected it to be as good, and maybe that is why I (and others on this thread) are scrutinizing their picture quality so much.

04-29-2015, 01:30 PM
It is what it is..and in this thread it is in black and white...HD pic. is every ones opinion..right now it is FREE.. so expectations no one cant have...IMO perfection is at the you pay provider...(DN-BEV-SKY) etc..
Personally I have no complain..Happy that I get to see some soccer games that normally I could not before..so picture Q..would be nice if it was on full HD..and who knows it may yet come, but for now what you see is what we get..
Peace

Gnt, I felt the same as you. I was very disappointed at first. I guess some of us had big expectations of it all being in HD, others are fine with it in SD. I have since realized that iptv just is prolly never gonna be the same hd quality as sat, cable. That is if the ch is even in HD.

There are already some HD feeds on the trial. You must keep in mind the high cost of HD transmission and also the extra equipment and work to seeders, not to mention their added costs of very high speed internet in the upload mode. What you have now is absolutely free..my advice is look at the glass as half full, NOT half empty..thks
BTW, this is not a mag issue and doesn't belong in the mag forum, thks

didn't say it was the same as iks, perfectly aware it isn't, the diff being the card stays in the sub box and not a reader...lol..where do you think the streams come from, thks..

04-29-2015, 04:14 PM
hey, no prob, bro...the real question is whether or not those streams will be seeded from C-band or not..although will still require lots of upload speed since the whole stream is being mined and not just control words...
