i received a reply from the folks at mickyhop to my question:

"MICKYHOP SHUTTING DOWN - OUT OF BUSINESS. Servers will run for
another 3 months then its done. We apologize."


Their response is:

Answer: Please ignore what he said in this website.There is someone maybe our competitor hacked our facebook.We will use another one.


So, for now at least, it looks like everything as normal (whatever that means). Mickyhop are not going anywhere.
