People switching back to build in stalker client?

I too have been looking for a solution for epg using Stalker Client NFPS.
Have been reading around forums and noticed dvbken the author/modifier of the "NFPS" version has been banned on the forums and cannot see why.
Can we get Update from a Mod on what Kodi Stalker Client is safe and should we stop using the Moddified "NFPS" version by dvbken?

If you can use Kodi's PVR Stalker client, the guide will work. It works both via the epg ninja add-on and the Web URL. It works on both my PC (screenshot below using guide via Web URL)) and my Android device (screenshots in Kodi > EPG subforum using guide via EPG Ninja add-on). The guide also works with IPTV Stalker Simple Client when it is used in conjunction with the IPTV Stalker Plus video add-on. The second route takes a bit more technical tinkering, so the first option is easiest if you're inclined to try one or the other.

I read that some folks have had success with AVOV and MAG boxes, but I won't speculate on a course of action there, because I can't do any testing.

It won't hurt to donate to ********** They create these epg's on their own time and spend their own money (plus donations) for the server and maintenance. I donated $10 yesterday. If everyone did this we would have a solid epg year round, I am sure! Again, that's **********

Ilan, I'm confused, I had it setup with my Pvr client stalker for a year and it was working up until a week ago ? But you showing a screenshot that is working? Anything changes on the configuration or the way it setup? Do you mind share your set up? Thanks

As I mentioned, I use the epg updater add-on for my Android set-up. I use the Epg Ninja guide URL for the PC.

All I'm saying that if someone has stalker client with epg ninja updater in kodi and the guide still works, then they can share the settings since I strongly believe that something changes may be after an update or so that require change of settings .that will help a lot .thanks

Use the URL. There are no "settings" for the EPG other than XMLTV Only and insertion of the URL I provided in the Remote URL field.

If that doesn't work, I can offer possible reasons, although they would be based on conjecture, since the EPG is working fine for me.

If people using the free kodi app are able to see the guide but none of the people who invested in stand alone boxes like Avov and Mag are able to, then it is clear that this is a failing on the service providers part.

Rocket/NFPS/66 simply cannot be bothered to maintain the service they are selling.

Considering it's been like a month of spotty to absolutely no guide info, with no discussion whatsoever from any of the providers, it sure is beginning to feel that way. I know the staff here are in the same boat as the rest of us for the most part so I don’t harbour any ill will or anything, but when a multi million dollar enterprise makes no apparent progress on a seemingly simple issue for this long, it makes one begin to wonder. Do they not care, are they not competent enough to fix it, or are they waiting until they drum up enough new subscriber dough to pay the chinese programmers behind it all to implement a fix? How hard can setting up an epg be anyway, assuming you have a source or sources from which to pull the guide data? We know the source data is out there, so I just don't understand why there seems to be this huge disconnect on this.

Maybe it's a problem with the latest server side middleware updates then. Then again, maybe it's not. Lol. I wish I knew.

Thanks Iyan..I'm confirming that changing the remote url to http://naps.********** fixed it..but for the record I had it set for special://temp for months and was working...so that's What I was saying on my previous post something changed lately and change it to the above rule..worked.

They're entirely different processes. You are now using a remote URL. You are no longer accessing the guide via the EPG NINJA updater. With that process, the guide was downloaded and stored on your device. special://temp is a physical reference to a location on your device where the epg_xmltv.xml guide file was downloaded and stored by the EPG NINJA updater. The new specification has nothing to do with the EPG NINJA updater or physical space on your device. Don't worry about the underlying mechanics of the two processes, but don't confuse the two processes either.

I appreciate that time and effort is spent resolving problems, but as mentioned above the information is out there, it must be 3 weeks no UK data, yet only last week Couch posted a link to UK Grabber addon which for a time solved the problem, Phycon posted he was back and made aware of the problem, 10 days later still no UK Channel listing, My question is why does it appear so easy to get the listings for other countries but your stuffed if you live in the UK?

I'm not the one to really point and say there is a problem. I was experiencing guide issues for about a month. I have learned not to mess with a working setup. Having said that, my guide didn't show UK channels then about two days ago they popped back up. I didn't touch a thing.
Tonight it doesn't show UK again. I was reading around and I see this post. I am pretty sure its not my setup but lately I get extra channels (posted in another thread) and now I'm getting PORN channels just appear. I see avov boxes are showing porn for no reason lately. ITs a problem.
I killed the epg updater and set stalker to use the URL but its NOT http://naps, so.... if you are reading this, use the correct URL http://nfps.**********. I know that was just a typo by "Macsol" but typos will trick off your setup. The machines don't like typos.

As a side effect I am hoping that turning off the epg updater stops the spawn of new channels especially the porn. The kids just cant un-see that stuff. I cant warp my kids over a bug like that. Having said that, I still did not get the UK channel listing back by changing stalker to use the remote url instead of the custom local location that that epg updater puts the xml file in. I really think the porn spawn and the extra channels I was seeing appear in my channel lineup was caused by the a bug in epg plugin and the way the channel list is stored in Kodi 16 maybe other versions as well.

Just my 2 cents but the guide has been flakey since the roll out of epg updater. I don't have the skills to say if it's a problem with windows,Kodi version or the updater itself, but I feel it functioned better when we had to update it manually.

Its all good, not my favorite situation but this, morning I get a full guide, but failed to get stream. I like to watch HLN before I leave. Not for the content, because Robin Mead is a lot easier to look at than the local anchor!
