I'm experiencing the same thing on one device, on my other htpc it is missing about half the channels.

I don't know if there was a bad pull or what, or if there's something that needs to be done on my end.

EPG hasn't been working for a month. I'm pretty sure IPTV Stalker/EPG/PVR is dead. There's no more support for it.

I wish somebody (MODERATORS) would clarify this by stating whether or not epg is up or down. Now one who knows seems to be willing to help.

Hello ilan, thank you. Some of us are new to IPTV and have little or no understanding on how to do this. I am confused with terms like stalker, kodi, etc. I don't know how to apply this to a mag254. Someone needs to explain step by step how to do it and mention the box and service for compatibility.

Thanks for the post ilan......

your mag does not need Kodi

Kodi is a operating system that allows applications to be run from
Stalker PVR Client or Stalker Plus are applications that allow a private service to connect. Without that, most devices would not be able to connect to our private services.

Now that Mag box already has Stalker onboard as part of its User Interface. You do not need KOdi or the other Stalker applications.
That Stalker was originally taken from the Mag receiver, and made into an application that other devices could use.

Your Mag box was the first to use Stalker and is permanently onboard your MAG and not just an application, so to speak.

edit..
I should amend this a bit.
Stalker was not taken from the Mag (as I kinda said), it was seen that the Mag was using Stalker and then others followed suit, like the Avov receiver for instance. The AVov emulated the Stalker onto its receiver and user interface.

Then we have PCs and other IPTV devices that do not have Stalker application (middleware) as part of their user interface, so they need that Kodi system so they can in turn run the the Stalker as an application and thus get iptv services.
Stalker is not owned by Mag company or avov or any others, just licensed to use .... I guess is how that works :)

NO EPG guide is not working, not on the 26th not on the 30th, All I am getting is Erratic or no EPG data for the whole month. In fact nothing working consistently for the whole year.
Using Mbox, MXIII, Couch Potato's IPTV Stalker plus, 10.3.4-r6, kodi 16.1, built in stalker client. IPTV Stalker is working.

Let's see...i just clicked on E4 (UK channel) because the EPG Ninja guide indicated The Big Bang Theory is on. Bingo, there it is!

Follow instructions in the prior post. The guide might not always work via that route, but for the moment it is.

Hi, I'm also using the Ninja updater add-on and have no EPG guide. So based on what's been said, how do I go from switching from using the Ninja Updater add-on to using the Ninja URL. Do I put the Ninja URL into built-in PVR Stalker settings? And would I need to disable the Ninja Updater add-on if I'm using the URL method or is it safe to leave it on, thanks.

On the PVR Stalker configuration page, choose Remote and put the following address in the Remote URL field.

You can disable the updater when using the remote url. The updater has no bearing on this process.

Above method should work with Remote on build in stalker client.

Do a IPTV Reset
(Disable/Delete the Stalker NFPS Addon version if you have it)
Close down
Delete Epg11.db and tv29.db (incase corruption) from C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\Databas e
Enable Stalker PVR(built in) and Simple IPTV Client left on Defaults
Run the Ninja EPG updater once with Stalker PVR config checked to get correct IDs into Stalker then totally disable the ninja updater so It doesn't keep flicking back to local xml.
Add http://nfps.********** as a remote source on Stalker PVR

Should work
I'm mostly populated except afew of the UK channels.

Don't make it more difficult than is necessary. As the person in the prior post noted, it is working as I posted. So...

First, check to make sure the time and date are set properly on your device. If they are not, you will not see any information or you will see inaccurate information in your guide.. After confirming that the date and time are correct, proceed with the instructions...

Condition 1 (You were using Stalker client NFPS):

If you had Stalker NFPS enabled, (1) Disable TV, (2) Disable Stalker NFPS, (3) Exit Kodi, (4) Do an IPTV Reset, (5) Start Kodi, (6) Enable PVR Stalker Client and configure it [instructions below], (7) In the EPG configuration portion, choose XMLTV only, Remote, and add the Remote URL that I posted earlier (and that is posted below), (8) In TV > General: Clear Data, (9) In TV > Guide: Clear Data, (10) In TV > General: Enable TV.

Condition 2 (You were using Kodi's built-in PVR Stalker client with the updater):

(1) Disable TV, (2) Disable the updater, (3) In the EPG configuration section, choose XMLTV only, Remote, and add the Remote URL that I posted earlier (and that is posted below), (4) Go to TV > General: Clear Data (5) Go to TV > Guide: Clear Data, (6) Go to TV > General: Enable TV.

=========

Remote URL:

http://nfps.**********

If you're absolutely certain you have everything configured correctly, but the guide will not load, there could be a redirection issue. Try the longer URL...

To disable the updater,

Follow the directions!!!!!

which will usually get things back in gear. Sometimes, though, a reboot of the device addresses problematic situations. In worst case scenarios, an IPTV Reset can perform an even greater miracle.

At the moment, I'm getting quite a bit of buffering, which is seldom the case for me, so things could be in a less than stellar state. Give it a bit of time. Perform the aforementioned steps from time-to-time. Keep me apprised. Hopefully, things will straighten out. If not, we'll probe further.

VOD movies are not available from within the PVR Stalker client. With a Kodi platform, you would need to use the IPTV Stalker Plus video add-on or Couch Potato's fork of the original video add-on. You can peruse the Kodi > IPTV Stalker (Video Add-on) section for more information.

Many will suggest Kodi movie add-ons will give you a wider array of movie options than will be afforded by the VOD section. I'd agree with that obsevation.

Yes I've tried all those steps, including rebooting my device before enabling it... and doing an iptv reset... all channels work (that I've tried) which in the last few days are a miracle unto itself... Just the xml file isn't loading fully.. It downloads to the pvr.stalker directory as the file is just over 13MB's.. and the epg cache file is there (which is really small, under 100kB)... Not sure what else to try. I wish someone would do a db /xml file to get the ivue 2 epg working without having to save each channel to favorites and point the ivue2 guide to each of the streams... really time consuming lol I'd do it and post it here...

O yes….thanks Ilan….your instructions worked.

@dj…..you have to scroll to the stalker client updater and bring up the contextual menu….on my minix remote it is a button with 4 horizontal white lines on it….clicking this button will bring up 'add-on information' and 'configure'….just highlight the former and click it…it will then give you the option to disable.

Just google 'how to bring up contextual menu' for the device you are using.

Work excellent!

Don't make it more difficult than is necessary. As the person in the prior post noted, it is working as I posted. So...

=========

Remote URL:

http://nfps.**********

The guide for configuring Kodi's built-in PVR Stalker client is available here:

Hey Ilan, when you use the remote url to download the guide, is it a very large file?

Im trying to figure out why my data storage in Kodi has suddenly spiked to over 2gigs…used to be around 500MB before….I never download anything Im watching, only stream.

ilan
09-05-2016, 11:08 AM
No, it shouldn't affect space allocation like that. In fact, it is the same file that the updater downloads. There is no difference in the file's size from before. It usually runs in the 12 - 17 MG range.

If you Clear Data, it should get rid of items associated with the guide. Make sure the updater is disabled or it will continue to download the file.

Tried all methods, updaters, urls, different urls, nothing happening.

The guide seems to not load often, for lots of people.
Great when it works.....

Frustrated: My stalker plus wont load. I have used this ninja repo about 20 times before but for the last week I cant get it to load. It starts downloading for ever then after 20 min it just disappears and an Installation fail error comes out. I am not doing anything different. I have checked about 12 videos and they all do the same as me buy in my case it does not work. Was there a change in the repo????
I read this other guy Hees is having the same problem with the stalker plus addon. What can it be

The repo was not working yesterday (or the day before). Psycon acknowledged that fact and said he was working on getting it working again.

Yeh tried that, & everything else, but still not working.

I'm sorry mate, cause I know you don't like to hear it, but the guide regularly doesn't work for lots of people, just look at the posts on it all over this forum.
We can't all be making it up or not clearing data etc.

As I said it's a pity cause when it works it's great

When set up correctly in PVR Stalker client, the EPG works. I'm not talking about issues with dedicated boxes. Those who had issues with PVR Stalker client and followed directions got it working. Here it is from moments ago...

What url are you using?
Short or long one?

On this, my PC, short. On one of my systems, the long. The short one just redirects to the long one. Some implementations don't accomplish a successful redirect.

Hi Ilan,

Your method with URL works for me. However my guide is now offset by 1 hour. The Stalker EPG Updater had an option checked to fix that. Since I have now disable its use...how can your fix (URL) now included in the PVR Stalker Client as a remote URL correct the 1 hour time difference. The PVR Stalker Client by itself I believe cannot fix that problem. ?????

It should be using your device's/system's time setting. I know you have thought of this, but make sure everything is set to the correct time...device, system/OS, and router, if is adjustable. Beyond that, try disabling TV, clearing data and then rebooting the device, modem and router -- and then enabling TV.

Hi Ilan,

Just for the record...the guide is displaying the correct time according to my system time on the FireStick. However it's the data in the guide that is shifted by one hour. As said before this was corrected when using the EPG Stalker Updater from EPG Ninja that has the guide offset 1 hour option. Since I no longer use this because I now use the custom URL you provided for stalker client...the guide data is off. Is there any sort of file I can modify manually to reflect the 1 hour change?

Tried what you suggested and it didn't work.

Thank You

I'll be honest, I'm not sure how to address the issue at this point. I'll do some thinking. If Psycon drops by, he might have another suggestion.

I haven't tried the updater lately, but it was still working last week. The URL just made things easier for most. You could try the updater again to see if it will load the guide and allow for the time adjustment. Make sure to clear the data before you enable it.

Initially, I wasn't going to do this little "primer, but then thought it wouldn't be that tough to create, so...

I won't go through all the steps you'd need to walk-through to change the EPG to suit your needs, but if you can figure out what I'm talking about here, you most likely know enough to accomplish that end.

First, you'll need to download and install something like Notepad++ (see below...it's free, but you can make a donation) to edit the EPG's XML file. Next, download the guide. I'd stick with its default name, guide.xml.

Set-up PVR Stalker client to use Local and then navigate to the guide.xml file you just downloaded. Go to TV > Guide and Clear data so the guide loads. Look within the guide for a few shows, and note the times. (They should be off by one hour as you indicated.) You're going to compare these times to the times in your edited guide, adjusting until you get things right.

Load guide.xml in Notepad++. There are over 150,000 lines of code, so the global search and replace will be your best friend for this task.

What you will be editing is the time offset in the guide. (You won't have to know coding to do this.) The lines Notepad++ will edit look like this:

<programme channel="I2.28460311.microsoft.com" start="20160909233000 (tel:20160909233000) +0000" stop="20160910000000 (tel:20160910000000) +0000">

Within Notepad++ be at the very top of the file, click Search and then choose Replace from the ensuing drop down menu. In the "Find what" area, enter +0000 (normally, this is the time offset from UTC time). In the "Replace with" area, enter +0100 and click Replace All. Save the edited file.

Now, clear your guide data so it will load the edited version of the guide. Compare the original program times to the edited program times (you should see a change of one hour), and determine which direction you need to go to get things aligned with your local time. If that didn't do it, try another search and replace. (The time offset can be negative, too, like -0100.) I'm thinking +0100 or -0100 will do the trick in your case.

After you've done this a few times, it shouldn't take more than 2 minutes to download, edit, save and load the guide.

Ilan,

Great explanation bro and thank you for taking the time to share it with us. I have a quick question....you mentioned in the above explanation EPG xml and Guide xml. Just want to confirm its the guide xml I am editing? If I am...do you know the exact location of the file?

Also would the guide xml file ever be overwritten once I modify the times?

Thanks Ilan.

If I do find the file before you respond I will edit this post.

If you input the guide's URL in a browser, the guide will load in the browser's window. Just do a save as "guide.xml" from within the browser after the guide is fully loaded.

The guide will not be overwritten, but the data will run out in a short time (as is normal) and you will have a blank guide. In that case, you would download a new copy of the guide and repeat the editing process.

Hi Ilan,

I found a file in the temp folder called epg_xmltv.xml. This is the path PVR Stalker Client points to when local is chosen. The xml file does contain the times as explained above. But again Ilan if I am using the remote URL (http://nfps.**********) to download the guide data...I would not be able to edit that file wherever it downloads to.

Looking foward to any further explanations.

Ilan,

Understood. Please ignore the above post as I posted it before reading your addional explanation. From what I understand the solution is not really a permanent one as I will have to edit the xml file every time I manually download the guide. Sounds great for me personally however it may not work out for my customers.
Nevertheless knowledge is power my friend and I am eternally greatfull for your detailed explanation.

Thanks again and I will keep an eye out for updates.

OK, new problem. Using Mbox, MXII, Kodi 16.1, Bulit-in Stalker client. EPG guide stuck at 7:30 PM(EST) on Sept 11th. Tried clearing data, restarting guide, nothing changes.
Using ilan setup with short url for guide.

This is not the first time this has happened. Once guide does load, it always stops at 7:30 PM the next day

The guide only has a finite amount of data. If it poops out, reload it.

I just loaded the guide. I have UK data. If the guide poops out or if information is lacking, try a reload. If that doesn't work, it could be a lack of data from the source or a bad pull. It will most likely be fixed in the next update.

I am very confused regarding the guide issue for kodi. First of all, earlier in the day I installed the iptv emulator 8.08 and was able to get it working on my octa core android box but I didnt like how it performed. CNN and some other channels were perfect but others channels the video was like in slow motion and not smooth. I then decided to test the box in kodi using the built in stalker pvr client and got the channels working with better picture.

Where I am confused at is the remote url address for the guide..Is http://nfps.******** a short address for something? Are we supposed to sub the ** for some other characters?

Thanks

That would be ninja for the ** characters. It sounds like you didn't turn off hardware acceleration in the emulator. The picture quality streams well on android octo core. There are 3 codecs in android KODI for HW acceleration and you should most likely turn those off for the best streaming quality.

You guys are awesome. Thanks ilan and expatter for the guide issue. In regards to the hardware acceleration in the emulation 8.08.03 I did turn of hardware acceleration and had to turn of media codec or CNN or some other channels would not pop in with only sound. Western channel was a culprit. slow...Thanks again all for the epg info.

I'm glad to hear it all worked out. Hardware acceleration is a catch-as-catch-can area. For some, turning it off works miracles. For others, it makes matters worse. All that can be done is to give it a shot and see how it affects video quality.

For a few weeks now (roughly), my Stalker EPG data isn't loading (100% blank). In searching around, it appears that the URL http://nfps.e****** no longer works; and, in fact, visiting it via a web browser shows that that URL no longer exists.
