This is pretty good flick. It's a musical type flick which I generally don't like but I did like this.
It's based on the musical from 1986.
It debuted in San Diego at the Old Globe Theatre in 1986, and premiered on Broadway on November 5, 1987.
Bernadette Peters portrayed the Witch and along with Joanna Gleason's performance as the Butcher's wife, the Broadway debut was well received.
-Written by James Lapine
This new Hollywood version was quite good :)
It story's main characters intertwine the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and follows them to explore the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests.
It's got Little Red Riding Hood.
It's got Rapunzel.
It's got Jack and the Beanstalk.
It's got Cinderella.
Meryl Streep as The Witch.
Johnny Depp as The Wolf.
But most important, it's got Emily Blunt as The Butcher's Wife :)
-Written by James Lapine and Rob Marshall.
-Directed by Rob Marshall.
3 thumbs up outta 5
