Mag254 Software Update

I have a subscription based Mag254 and tried to download new firmware, that I have seen talked about on here, but when I go into the Software Update page all I get is the following
Current Version 1 Description 0.2.18-r11-254-wtv
Date Sat Oct 10 02:23.05 CEST 2015
URL: //firmware.wooow.tv/250/1/imageupdate254/imageupdate
I then click on the Verify box, and get the following
Available Update n/a
Update files were not found or damaged

Does this mean that there are no updates available or is it only my paid subscription provider can issue updates?

the idea of you changing you software with one provided by a third-party is completely ridiculous. This software should only be taken from the manufacturer’s website.

Sorry I did not realise that was what I was trying to do, all I was looking for was if there was an update for my Mag254 box, that's why I asked whether it was down to my provider to release updates for my box.
My DVD has updates from the manufacturer from time to time as does my Television, and my mobile phone and these updates come from the manufacture and not my service provider so I naturally was just asking if the same was correct with the Mag boxes.
I would not attempt to change any of my software settings as I would not have sufficient knowledge to attempt such changes, hence I purchased the box with a paid subscription for one year.

I just want to make sure the box is fully up to date
