For the last while, U.K. channels were freezing. From what I have been reading on here lately, i know I wasn't the only one with it. I never saw anyone reply with a good attempt at making it better. I only saw "check your end, everything is fine here". This would be the main reason I never asked for help and tinkered with it on my own. Here is what I did to get rid of the buffering. Let me start with my equipment and software versions.
mx3 media box running kodi 16.1 Jarvis
pvr stalker with epg ninja guide
#1 in Kodi go to system/settings/video (ensure settings level is expert)
#2 go to acceleration
#3 disable all 3 Hardware acceleration (amcodec, mediacodec(surface), mediacodec
Enjoy your tv, all is streaming fine now including 720 p feeds. However a few channels seem to have audio way out of sync but I believe this is a whole other issue.
Cheers!

I don't know why you are saying that. This has been recommended numerous times as a first line of attack.
For example...

There is a thread that I never saw. Wish I had earlier. ;)

I have also noticed some folks talking on here about USA channels jittery and freezing. I also experienced this after disabling all codecs. This may have been mentioned before however I may have missed the answer. I enabled all of the codecs except amcodec. So far, no buffering for UK and no jitteriness on USA feeds. I hope this helps someone.
Cheers!
For some people, disabling hardware acceleration cures their problem. For others, it creates additional problems. This "fix" can be included in a trial and error methodology, but it won't work for everyone, and some of the settings may have to be adjusted, as you are witnessing.

I agree %100 with you. Hence why I posted hardware and software versions that I am using. If it helps 1 person only, this is good enough for me.

OK guys Im running Kodi 16.1 on a Raspberry Pi2. The 2 Acceleration options I have is OMXplayer & MMAL. Ive tried with both enabled, both disabled and a combo of the 2 but still got major buffering on some channels. The 2 main channel I watch is Discovery Turbo Max & Dmax. Dmax Buffers every 15seconds where Turbo Max is virtually buffer free. I have a VPN and a 15Mbps internet connection. I have no issues streaming video from other sources so I know its local to this service.
I'm not at my system now to test DMax. Maybe someone else could provide feedback.

I just checked it and it all works fine on my end, no buffering whatsoever. I'm using exactly the same setup, try use MMAL only for the hardware acceleration and see if that makes any difference.

It sounds like he tried that, but thanks for providing the information.
One thing you might want to try, Shorsfall, is to bring your box to a neighbor's or relative's house who uses a different Internet Provider. Hook it up there to see how things work.
This isn't a conclusive test by any stretch, because they, too, could have a problem with their Internet Provider or in portions of their routing, but it is at least a step toward trying to isolate the problem.

Ilan I hear what you are saying but I don't believe it can be an ISP issue. I'm using a VPN service so that would rule out the ISP. My internet speed is 15mbps so that rules out bandwidth. Ive just come from another IPTV provider starting with D and had no issues what so ever. Only reason I changed was I didn't like their EPG. I wish I hadn't now.
