Bubba is hitting long. He been reaching some of these greens in two and with eagle chances and with one eagle just now for Bubba !!!
Phil Michelson has not teed off yet, but he holds second place coming into today, just one stroke back of the leader.
Stenson and Mickelson are out front with a 6 and 7 stroke lead on the rest... But this is the British Open :eek:

Henrik Stenson finds the green on the par-five fourth, lags up for birdie, but before cleaning it up he must watch Mickelson's 12-foot eagle attempt. It never looks anywhere but in the hole. Stenson then completes the birdie. Both men are now 14-under-par, playing supreme golf, 7 clear of the field.

Mickelson and Stensen are still neck and neck, shot for shot and now on the back nine.
Stensen just took the lead again at 17 under and one stroke up on Phil !
Third place competitor is at 7 under.

Cries, sighs and howls of disbelief as Henrik Stenson makes birdie from about 60-feet on 15. An astonishing effort. He followed it in with a fist pump. Mickelson has 40-feet for his own three and it slips by. A two shot lead with three to play.

Stensen is going for two records right now.
Tiger Woods lowest Major Open score of 19 under and another golfers lowest closing round score of 63 or less in a major tounament.
Stensen is just about to drop a birdie putt too !!!

I just heard Jason Day had a 20 under par score for a past major.

Mickelson finishes with a par and his lowest final round score of 65 , but not enough to beat Stensen !!!

Stensen birdies the 18th for a 20 under par and alll time major record, tied with Jason Day !

What a round of golf for these two guys :eek:

Mickelson was there tied with Stensen with 3 or 4 holes to go... but missed some birdies on the last few holes, while Stensen made his birdies.
Phil made records too. The most major appearances, next to Jack I think.
Almost got two eagles in one final round too, missed that by an inch :eek:

We witnessed history as Sweden's Henrik Stenson shot 63 for a total of 20-under-par, the lowest 72-score total in Open history.
Stenson and Mickelson traded blows right from the off, with an eagle and eight birdies over the front nine pulling them well clear of the pack.
On the back nine it was Stenson, pinpoint of the tee, clever on the fairways and relentless with the putter, who emerged victorious with a truly astonishing and memorable display of links golf.
