Many of the channels (such as CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC for example) that once were in HD, are now in SD. What happened?
Yes they did.
For some (or many), the HD channels were continuously buffering, possibly due to the network issues that were being fixed by NFPS. SD channels are less likely to buffer.

Personally I'd rather have rock solid SD then unwatchable HD.
Hopefully they will come back some day without the buffering!

NFPS can have rock solid HD. NFPS has a overload of customers and not adding more servers. More servers= more stable=happy customers. You people are blind or what?

To me, the SD quality now is better than before HD hit. Yeah, I prefer a stable SD stream vs HD choppy.

The quality of some of the channels is not the best.
