IPTV newbie

I am new on this iptv concept, so i would appreciate any advice about how to start and choose the right "box" seems there are many options but not sure if just comparing the hardware is the right approach.

You can check the different subforums to get a feel for some of the hardware and application options available. Also, you can do some google searches for equipment comparisons. You may find it is similar to asking "what is the best flavor of ice cream?" People have their personal biases.
