I have a new 254 arriving Monday. Question-Can I set it up on one computer and then take it to another computer and hook it up permanently?

Just a regular setup hookup to the ethernet of one computer. After setup hook it up to ethernet coming from a different computer

If the receiver gets internet it will work. Normal setup is from a router or modem to the mag, but advanced networking will work if setup correctly and there is enough bandwidth to cover streaming.

Actually what I was going to do was set it up at home and then take it to work to watch in between shifts. With a router of course

It will work anywhere there is internet running to it, doesn't check how it gets that internet connection. Make sure you also set the tv resolution to something both tvs can use too, to make sure you don't run into issues there.

i have people who stay in hotels and they plug em into their TVs . as the man above says make sure you have it selected to NTSC/PAL untill you know you can use 720p HDMI
