Kodi 16 Changes Serial Number and Device Id on every reboot

Since the changes were made to the server addresses. everytime I close kodi and restart it, it autamatically generates these long numbers (letters and numbers) for the following: Serial Number, Device ID1 & 2, and Signature which causes the pvr stalker to not load any channels and give an error: Device id mismatch....

Using "portal5.iptvpricateserver.tv..... " on kodi 16.0 with PVR STALKER 1.0.3 built in.

I have the same mac on my desktop and fire tv stick, so thats why I need to use a custom serial number, but lately its changing it on both pc and fire tv... any idea to why ? is it due to epg updater plugin ? can we have the option to use our custom numbers and have kodi not change them ? frustrating new feature...or I just have to go back to kodi 15.2 ? (mind you it was working fine on kodi 16 with same pvr stalker couple weeks ago...) ???

There's a setting in the updater to not change the credentials. Are things set correctly?

well the Stalker EPG Updater version is 1.0.16, and in it I have configured:

Donation number
MAC
Configure PVR STALKER (I have checked this.... or should I uncheck this ?)
IPTV Portal: 5.iptv....
EPG Download path: special://temp/epg_xmltv.xml
Enable schedule is checked (although there is no place to select the time for this)

the epg is loading and working fine but, it keeps resetting the pvr stalker device id's and serial number everytime i launch kodi....

I thought you couldn't use the same MAC on more than one device ??
I have a Amazon FireTV stick as well as 2 Appletv 1st gen boxes but the firetv stick is currently the only one running my PVR Stalker...
would like to be able to test the stalker on my 2 Appletv box with the same MAC for now to see if they work...
Hate to go thru the process of changing MAC's on the devices just for this to see if PVR stalker works ?
If I'm using the ********** then I guess I wouldn't be able to do this since it auto-configures everything, is that correct ?

You can't use them simultaneously if you're using the same MAC. However, if you use the exact same credentials on two devices, you can use the same MAC without having to do an IPTV Reset each time you switch from one device to the other. In your case, I'm not sure of the state of the PVR Stalker client for AppleTV.

As ilan said it's possible to do as long as your not using them at the same time.. But with that said a lot of people have nothing but issues when trying to do this and then they get frustrated as they have screwed up a box that was working perfectly fine.. So just be aware that you might screw up your fire stick that's working perfectly fine 😉

Pod, is correct. If everything is working great, playing around with switching devices can be a frustrating experience.

Although it costs a bit more, having another donation for the second device will circumvent any issues.

Yes the cost would be worth it if know that my box will work so I don't have a problem there...
as for as using them at the same time, should I turn off my firetv stick completely or just stop the tv service from loading and running ?
I just turned off the TV portion of it and it's not loaded or running.....

trying to setup the AppleTV 1st gen with Openelec 6 Kodi 15.2 PVR Stalker with the same MAC but different SERIAL NUMBER to at least be able to test it...but since I'm using ********** on both boxes it will generate its own random SERIAL NUMBER...

anyway, I get the error - Stalker cannot load channels...and I'm wondering if it is the "EPG path" since the AppleTV box does not
have "Special://temp"....I looked thru a couple of the directories and couldn't find the "epg_xmltv.xml" file anywhere or a temp directory.

I will try to turn off the firestick tv completely and see if that makes a difference...

Yes turn the fire stick off completely so you don't have any issues... But as I said be prepared to get frustrated ;) as many people have tried this and missing just one thing will throw error messages 😉

They are doing maintenance on the server so until they say everything is good I wouldn't mess with anything;)

Very true... Sdruid, you're not going to be able connect even if everything is set-up correctly. Today isn't a good day to try to test a new configuration.

Ok, up and running now on both the FireTV stick and AppleTV 1st Gen boxes running Kodi.....
The FireTV stick got screwed up initially as you suggested it might so I did an "iptv reset" which fixed it...
I waited about 24 hours and booted up the AppleTV box and the PVR Stalker came right up....
turns out that some of the configuration settings were wrong in Stalker but the ********** put the correct settings in...
