hey all

I am currently running kodi v16.0 + stalker pvr nfps + EPG ninja and everything is working great

but I am wondering is there any easy way to get rid of all the foreign channels and just show english channels... or more specifically US/CAN/UK only without having to go in and uncheck each channel 1 by 1 in the channel manager ?

is there a file somewhere that I can edit outside of kodi?

thank you

You know, this has been a huge issue for me since i began using the PVR Stalker client with NFPS about 6 months ago. I have run into this issue on Isengard on android, PC and now Krypton on both platforms.

The first method I used was to go into the channel manager, select a channel and then move over and de-select "active" and move down and de-select Activate Guide. This takes a lot of time and clicks and is extremely labor intensive. It worked great and stayed configured until about 6 months ago. Right about the time I started using the EPG updater plugin. I have other posts about "spawning new channels" This would occur despite the fact that I de-select the three options for (Synchronize channel groups with back end, Use channel order from backends and Use channel numbers from backends. ) With that being said, I finally tried another less time consuming method. I just got used the idea that Kodi is overwriting these settings on load due to something in the PVR or EPG service addons. It didn't happen that often so it was no big deal to me.

This is faster and this solution worked well (until lately):

I would get my stalker client configured then in Kodi, TV settings, channel section. Have all three of the following selected : Synchronize channel groups with back end, Use channel order from backends and Use channel numbers from backends. I would close and reopen Kodi and pull the channel groups and order. This groups most English channels together. I then would unselect those 3 Synchronize options. Then go to TV settings, general, and open "group manager". On the far left select "all channels" move over the far right column of the list and choose all the channels I wanted to "hide" leaving only the English channels. This worked for a while and now it doesn't stay this way.

NOW THE BAD NEWS I come in some days, recently every fricking day, and start KODI and all those hidden channels just pop back to being listed. I have brought it up in the forum unders spawning new channels and it has resulting in no one really explaining or describing a fix. I am working on this issue right now so I'm in the forums looking for a solution to the channel list not being saved and remain saved under either of the above described senarios. IT is a pickle. My plan next is just dig into kodi files and determine which file saves this information and back that file up but I have not been able to do that, still configuring my list down to what I prefer. If you find a better more reliable way Please reply to this post.

Hey Owen420, check out this tool for editing the channels

http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?8634-Kodi-PVR-Channel-Template-Loader

And this thread about channel configuration

http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?16813-Location-of-channel-configuration-file

My two cents-

I am also trying out setting my tv29.db file to read only. I am running Krypton and maybe that is part of the issue, something in KODI.

Since I posted this , my channel list was "corrupted" for lack of a better word. However, I made a copy of that tv29 file and dropped it in storage. when my list changed from what I had setup earlier, I dropped the copy back into its native folder (userdata/database). Boom all my channels are back the way I left them, in the order I left them. Maybe that will help save you some time setting up your own channel lists.
