Anyone with Fios as their ISP having trouble?

Recently a friend who is on Verizon Fios came to me looking for help. The portal wouldn't load, it would just remain on the blue loading screen on STB Emu. We tried everything, resetting portal, clearing the stb app, etc.
I'm wondering if Fios has started blocking 66 because I'm in a different country right now and on a different ISP and having NO problems.

Is anyone else having problems with Fios? I'm just trying to rule out all possibilities.

Well it can be a number of things, in my experience after I set my router DNS address to google's server my service is flawless. Not just with IPtv but with surfing the web. I think this video might help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoS3W1gc7os

Luckily he doesn't use the Fios modem as a router, just as a modem, he has a better router attached so hopefully that will help the issue.
