kodi 16 will not download to samsung tab 2

i cannot get kodi 16 to install on my tab 2,it downloaded but wont install.i currently have kodi 15.2 installed and working with wookie.does anyone know why it wont install ?,or how i can get it to install.i would like to update to the newest version.thanks.i wasn't sure wether to post in tablets or kodi.thanks

check your version of android i think you need at least 4.4.

I could not get my tablet to take it either so I totally removed it with a file manager and used a browser to go to kodi downloads
and got the new one kodi 16.1 not the 16.0 I heard 16.0 has some freeze issues so got 16.1 suppose to have new fixes
