Mine did the same and had to delete the root of kodi with a file manager

No , I mean you have to totally delete kodi out . just deleting it there are files left behind and ya need to delete them with a file manager and show hidden files
then just do a clean install of kodi 16.0 jarvis . That is what I had to do cause mine would not update as well...

i just updated from 15.2 to 16 with adb fire. i didnt delete old version just installed the new over the old all my setting an apps remained exactly as they were and stuff that had quit working started working again. i have already seen some apps will not run right on 15.2 anymore. But i am using on a firestick not a box.

just go to Channel Store thru your Avov menu. There will be 3 versions of Kodi there. The first one you come across is the TVaddons 14.2 version.
Then the next one will be the Kodi 15.2 version. You can click on it and you should see it shown as 15.2
Dont install that one. Exit out and scroll to the bottom of the list and you will see another Kodi version. Click on that one and it should show as 16.0 version. Install it. Then use the Run option you see there and it will open.


I have had the TVaddons version and the 15.2 version on this Vixo2 and at same time and are independent of each other. Each have their own addons which were installed.
I can open either from Channel Store or My Channels.
This 16.0 version appeared the other day and I installed it. Then I had 3 Kodi versions on Vixo2 and all could run independent of the other.
No interference with each other or other issues.
So then I reset the Vixo 2 and now I have the 15.2 and the 16.0 installed and both will run separately, on demand.
I did not have to reset the box, but I wanted to.
Just uninstalling any version will work fine too.
