epg not populating ..

Last night everything froze on me and lost channel so I rebooted everything modem / laptop cleared cache and data for guide in kodi
and now I do get the channels but the guide is blank no listings or colours . so I deleted the guide and the .xmls and reinstalled the
guide and let .xml re-populate, and again , have channels , just no guide descriptions . I also did try changing skins and made no difference.
All was working perfect till last night and I changed nothing .... Can someone help with this please , I'm frick'n stumped ... lol

16.0 settings are:
Active Portal: 1
Connection Timeout:120
Mac Address: 00:1A:78:xx:xx:xx ( my last 6 for mac ) not xx
Server Address: portal.iptvprivateserver.tv/stalker_portal/c/index.html
Time Zone: Canada/Eastern

Guide:
Preference: XMLTV Only
Cache Guide Data: On
Cache Time: 12
Scope: Remote Url
Remote Url: "1"
Serial:13 # digits letters and numbers with 1 cap
devid id1: 12 digits - letters and numbers with 1 cap
devid id2: 12 digits - letters and numbers with 1 cap last number different
signature: 9 digits - letters and numbers with 1 cap

On :
Kodi 16.0 with all clairvoyance files installed
Laptop dedicated for tv only
6 Gb ram
Windows 10
500gb hdd
amd athalon 2.1 processor

Source .zip on the ********** server is much smaller than normal, so it's not on the user side.

Dara's answer was to your question. It appears there are some issues with the guide, so don't make changes at your end.

See my previous answer. EPG is only partially available. It could be a pull issue.

Thanks dara and psycon, it happened to me also .. guide with no information gone. Also all my 5 icons in "video" are also gone:confused:, after re-start Using Kodi 16.0 on fire stick.. Thanks for keeping us updated and all your help here ... "You both are the best" ... andkaal:D

2. XMLTV Scope to local to kodi/userdata/addon_data/pvr.stalker/epg_xmltv.xml

3. Go to kodi/userdata/database delete any epg database files that you have I had 2

4. In kodi got to system/live tv/clear data

5. Close kodi down propely using exit or power force close might work but not sure

6. Restart kodi I have color coded guide correct time

That fix works if you have Kodi 15 or under . As Kodi 16.0/16.1 which I have in url scope you only need anything you want there
as ninja updater grabs for it

Well maybe I am , But mine is working flawless with the clairvoyance downloads
all I did was delete the epg xml re-enabled tv and working great with full guide no need for
XMLTV Scope to local to kodi/userdata/addon_data/pvr.stalker/epg_xmltv.xml
I only have "1" typed in mine and XMLTV only on 16.1 kodi as per the instruction sticky's
for kodi 16.0

Well, you both are kind of correct. The URL is needed for Kodi 15, as the 'epg cache' file technique isn't used there, but in Kodi 16 it's only a placeholder. The most important setting if using the epg updater is to make sure you are selecting "XMLTV only". The "local" scope will work if you use the "Prefer XMLTV".

The thing is... if it works... it works.
