I just bought this awesome 65" Samsung 4K tv. I have other Samsung TV's in the house hooked up to other Mag 254's and they all work great with no issue at all, but for some reason with this new TV once it's turned off the Mag also shuts down and the only way to get It back on is to unplug it and plug it back in. Does anyone have a solution to this irritating issue? Thank you!

wow my 65 dont do that but you may need to buy a universal remote

Thanks, The mag gets stuck in the off position. How would a universal remote fix that?

try a different output resolution.. I know it might not be the best solution, but just to see if you can get it to show anything on the new tv.
the box likely powers off because it can not find or negotiate a video(tv) connection/resolution.

HDMI-Consumer Electronics Control (HDMI-CEC) controll - must be switched off and you will forget about the problem.
If you change the country from the TV settings in many east European countries will find an STB emulator on one of the largest providers of IPTV also Kodi which will negate the use of STB box.

turning off Anynet HDMI-CEC made no difference

Are you trying to use the Samsung One Connect if so it will not work with the mag. You will instead need to use an alternate source like stereo receiver or some external HDMI switch.

Well that sucks! Yes this new TV has no HDMI ports on the back of the TV, The HDMI ports are all through the One Connect Mini which is a separate box.
Do you know if the same issue would exist with the Avov?

I have only seen this issue with the Mag box unfortunately I have no way to test since I can't afford a fancy TV like that because my wife says no! -_- I would suggest you contact the vendor "Samsung" and report the issue they probably don't even know they have an issue with the box. You can also try and open a ticket with Mag let them know exactly how you are connecting it and the problem.

By the way my suggestions on a work around will work for you for the time being.

Good Luck--

haha I got it on sale so wife was happy!
Thank you for all your time input it really helps but still sucks! When i get home i will try hooking it up to composite A/V
and see what the picture quality is like.

Yep that is an option and since only some porn channels are in HD i don't think you will be missing much.

IPTV doesnt have any HD channels so a 4K TV isn't gonna do anything. To get full benefit of a 4K HDTV you must have HD programming.

Petrucci look again they are starting to roll out HD streams right now there are some in the porn section....

I have the exact same problem, MAG254 connected to HDMI 2 on One Connect, plug power into MAG254 and loads up, however turn TV Off and back on again, then switch to HDMI 2 and no source signal, you then need unplug power from MAG254 to get it going again.

So what I've found is turning off the MAG254 before you turn the TV off, will then show the MAG254 LED is bright and in standby.

Turn off TV and then Turn back on, MAG254 LED still bright, select HDMI Source and once selected turn MAG254 on, watch programs and before turn TV off turn MAG254 off FIRST.

Not ideal but saves keep unplugging power to MAG and rebooting.
