How to pair an air mouse to the Mag 254

I have a Mag254 set top box that works great but I'm not happy with the remote that came with it. I went out and bought a remote with a USB dongle that plugs into the Box. I tried to pair it but nothing happens. Is there an app I need to install in the box, do I need to configure a mouse in the settings? Here's a photo of the mouse I got. It has a keyboard on the back. Pull the power plug and that wirr reset the receiver and may see the dongle.
